Overwatch 2 Genesis Part 2: Innocence featured some Aurora and Anubis lore. It also went into the formation of Overwatch.
Overwatch 2 has released the next part of its Genesis series. Here's the recap of Overwatch 2 Genesis Part 2: Innocence, which features Aurora's backstory and more!
Aurora in Overwatch 2 Genesis Part 2: Innocence
The second part of the Overwatch 2 mini-series began with Aurora's awakening. An author, Grant, described her lonely existence of being the first sentient omnic.
"Can you imagine how she must have felt? Born in a laboratory surrounded by your creators. And then you learn the truth that there is no other creature like you... anywhere. That you are truly alone," Grant said.
Robotics engineer Camara Verne then talked about Dr. Mina Liao's involvement in testing Aurora's sentience and claiming that Aurora was alive. This resulted in the court declaring Aurora as a sentient being. Aurora soon explored the world and observed how humans treated each other.
Eventually, Aurora had questions about her own existence and soul. She later walked past some flowers before reaching a place that would help her find answers.

Anubis lore enters Overwatch 2 Genesis
Overwatch 2 Genesis Part 2: Innocence then shifted focus on the conflict between omnics and humans. After Omnica Corp fell due to overspending, mismanagement, and fraud, the company's automated production lines were completely abandoned.
This allowed a God program, Anubis, to hijack these omnic production lines and create warbots of its own design. These warbots attacked humans around the world. Anubis was built to maintain ecological balance and conservation. However, that goal required the end of humanity.
Overwatch joins the fray
That's when teams across the world formed Overwatch to defend humans. The Overwatch members featured in the Genesis were Reinhardt Wilhelm, Gabriel Reyes, Jack Morrison, Ana Amari, and Torbjorn Lindholm. Additionally, Dr. Liao was recruited for her knowledge of omnics.
Overwatch going against Anubis gave the world some hope. However, will that hope be enough? Overwatch 2 Genesis Part 2: Innocence ended with a scene featuring omnics versus Overwatch's core team.
The next part of this mini-series will air on July 20 at 9 a.m. PT. The runtime of Part Three: Rebirth will be 6:58 minutes.
