Overwatch 2 Spotlight spoilers
At the time of publishing this article, Blizzard Entertainment has not yet revealed what will be shown in the new Overwatch 2 Spotlight event. However, details will likely arrive in the coming days or during the livestream itself.
Perhaps the remaining lore placeholders in Overwatch 2's story feature will be revealed alongside some new information about Talon, Vendetta, Emre, or even Kace. Only time will tell. What we do know is that last year, Blizzard Entertainment released a trailer ahead of the Spotlight event. This trailer featured past collaborations, esports achievements, and hero additions like Juno and Hazard.
The video also teased new heroes, maps, and player-versus-player (PvP) changes. Viewers were even able to earn limited-time Twitch Drops. The first-ever Overwatch 2 Spotlight can be watched below to give you an idea of what's possible for the 2026 iteration of it.
"For 35 years, Blizzard has been shaped by the worlds we build -- and the players who bring them to life," the official Blizzard Entertainment account on X stated following the spotlight announcement. "You've fought through World of Warcraft, battled in Diablo, played your cards in Hearthstone, and held the line in Overwatch."
The post continued, "We've come a long way together. And now, the next chapter begins. Over the next few weeks, each world will showcase what comes next. If these games mean something to you, we'd love to see you there."

The announcement also followed up with a video featuring references galore, too. It included artwork of Thrall as the Lord of the Clans, StarCraft novels, a Genji statue, the cow level in Diablo, and Arthas' Frostmourne weapon. It even panned to weapons of former warchiefs of the Horde like Garrosh and Sylvanas!

We heard a lot of nostalgic voice overs and voice lines as well, with one of them being the Overwatch franchise's iconic "Never accept the world for what it appears to be. Dare to see it for what it could be," line spoken by Dr. Harold Winston.
