For the first time since 2017, FNATIC will compete in Overwatch esports.
FNATIC is as storied an esports organization as you can find, competing in a variety of different esports titles at the highest level, from League of Legends to VALORANT. And now, for the first time since 2017, FNATIC will compete again in Overwatch esports, this time in Overwatch 2.
FNATIC OWCS roster "coming soon"
According to a post on May 7, FNATIC has confirmed a return to Overwatch esports after being away from it for nearly eight years. The popular London-based esports organization will begin competing in the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) with a roster that is "coming soon."
It is fair to speculate that FNATIC is attempting to secure representation at the coming OWCS Dreamhack Dallas Major and may be looking to acquire one of the eight qualifying teams in the process, especially considering the unsigned nature of teams like Students of the Game that have qualified. But, this is purely speculation and fans will have to wait and see who FNATIC decides to bring on to compete in Overwatch 2 esports.

The last time FNATIC competed in Overwatch esports dates back to 2017 in Overwatch APEX Season 2. Unfortunately in that season, FNATIC was no match for the likes of Runaway and KongDoo Panthera, who they lost to in group play.
This roster was stacked with the likes of Matt "coolmatt" Iorio, Scott "Custa" Kennedy, and André "iddqd" Dahlström, who all went on to compete in the Overwatch League in its inaugural season in 2018.
FNATIC will be hoping for better results than just a mid-table finish this time around. Be on the lookout for a roster announcement coming from the organization very soon, and potentially even an appearance at Dreamhack Dallas.
