Pay attention to the “Just For You” section of the shop.

Blizzard has seemingly rolled out a shadow update to Overwatch 2 this week, which offers certain players a special discount on epic skin Retro Star Mei.

Overwatch Cavalry first reported the news on Friday, June 7. According to their findings, Blizzard offered players up to a 70% discount (300 Coins) on the Retro Star Mei skin, but some players got only a 10% price reduction on the skin.

How to check skin discounts in Overwatch 2

Although Blizzard seemingly didn't roll out the update for every Overwatch 2 account, follow the steps below to check if you can buy the Retro Star Mei skin at a discounted price.

  1. Launch Overwatch 2
  2. Go to shop
  3. Look at the "Just For You" section
  4. Check if you have a discount

Will more Overwatch 2 skins get cheaper?

For now, it seems like Blizzard is just offering discounts on the Retro Star Mei skin, but there's a possibility the developer is testing this feature to roll out an expanded version to the playerbase in the future.

Given the nature of the "Just For You" section of the shop, it would be plausible for Blizzard to start offering daily discounts on skins based on each account's preference as that section already refreshes once every 24 hours.

Of course, all is speculation for now as Blizzard hasn't said anything about decreasing the price of Overwatch 2 skins in any recent updates or blog posts. However, the player base would definitely be more inclined to spend more money on the game if the cosmetics were cheaper.
