Update your PlayStation 5 and forget about using a second device to join voice chats.
PlayStation is finally supporting Discord directly! As the company stated, many voice chat features will be released as updates for the console in the coming weeks. This includes the ability to join a call or group voice chat without the need of a secondary device.
The first region to receive these update will be Asia/Japan. Later in the same week, PlayStation will release the update for Europe, Australia/New Zealand, and the Middle East. The last region to get the update will be the Americas.
In the past, you first had to open Discord on your phone or PC to join a voice chat on PlayStation. This was an extra step that's getting a fix with the next update.
