The vampire character Nitara has joined the Mortal Kombat 1 (MK1) roster following an official announcement from NetherRealm Studios.

Creative Director Ed Boon teased the reveal before confirming Nitara’s MK1 roster spot. Even more exciting is that actress Megan Fox will portray the character via voice acting and visual capture. Let's learn more about Megan Fox and her perspective on Mortal Kombat 1 ahead of the game's launch!

The vampire Nitara brings MK1 roster closer to completion

Only a few weeks remain before Mortal Kombat 1’s worldwide launch. Even less time stands between eager players and the early access window. With all that said, NetherRealm Studios confirmed Nitara for MK1.

Like Ronda Rousey’s recent portrayal of Sonya Blade,  actress Megan Fox assumes the role of Nitara. This reimagined version of the 3D-era character hits home. She’s brutal and bloody—everything Nitara fans could hope to see.

The actress spoke briefly about her character portrayal, saying that it resonated with her and forced her to step out of her comfort zone. She recognized Mortal Kombat’s impact on gaming and noted that it is “cool to be in the game.”

In her previous version, Nitara resided in Outworld, needing the blood of her enemies to stay alive. In MK1, Nitara brings a bag of aerial tricks and devastating claws. Many hoped to see the vampire return in the new game; that wish has been granted.

Only one spot remains after Nitara on the MK1 roster. Recent leaks have indicated that the final position belongs to another legacy character. However, we expect more confirmation in the coming days as Mortal Kombat 1’s September 19 launch rapidly approaches.
