State of the game
Final Kombat 2024 completed the first season of the MK1 Pro Kompetition. However awesome that tournament was, it left doubts about the competitive balance of Mortal Kombat 1. Check out our article with the best moments at that event — it is hard not to notice the dominance of certain characters and kameos.
That was a pretty long time ago, and we went through a few patches, including a big MK1 Khaos Reigns update. The meta should be fixed now, and the new esports season certainly can show if it is so.
Another dimension of any fighting game is the support for casual players. The community wants to have more characters, but the developers are keeping silent. If there are no plans to shut the game down, like the parent company, Warner Bros. Games, did with MultiVersus, the official reveals of Kombat Pack 3 should happen really soon — perhaps at MK1 Pro Kompetition Mexico.
The circuit features quite a few international tournaments. The next one is viennality 2k25, from March 1 to March 2 in Vienna, Austria. This event has the highest tier within Pro Kompetition 2025: Demi God.
