Global events expand to 24 teams

One of the biggest changes in 2026 is the expansion of the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals, which will now feature 24 teams, from only 18 in the previous year. The tournament will happen in Bangkok, Thailand. The event starts on November 6 and will take place across four high-stakes weekends.
Standalone clash squad tournament launches in March 2026
A major structural change in 2026, as revealed in the Free Fire roadmap, is the introduction of a standalone regional Clash Squad tournament, set to debut in March. Unlike previous formats, this event will operate independently of the FFWS system, giving Clash Squad specialists a dedicated competitive pathway. Further details about the tournament format and participating regions will be revealed closer to its launch.
Free Fire Ramadan Cup 2026 introduced

Garena also announced the Free Fire Ramadan Cup 2026, a new online Battle Royale tournament featuring 18 teams and a USD 25,000 prize pool. The event will include:
- 4 teams from Malaysia
- 2 teams from Indonesia
- 6 teams each from Bangladesh and Pakistan
Matches will be played across Bermuda, Purgatory, Alpine, Kalahari, NexTerra, and Solara.
The Knockout Stage runs from February 21 to 23 at 4:30 PM GMT+8, with teams split into three groups of six. After 15 matches, the top 12 teams will advance to the Grand Final, scheduled for February 28 at 2:30 PM GMT+8. The final will use the Champion Rush format, where the first team to reach 80 points and secure a Booyah! will become the champion.
Continued growth of Free Fire esports in the United States
Free Fire will also continue expanding its competitive ecosystem in the United States throughout 2026 with a full annual circuit. The season begins with FFWS USA Spring (March–April), with the champion advancing to the Esports World Cup.
This is followed by:
- FFWS USA Summer (May–June)
- FFWS USA Fall (August–September) is the official qualifier for the FFWS Global Finals
- FFWS USA Winter (December 2026–January 2027), feeding into the 2027 season
The roadmap builds on the momentum of the Free Fire United States Championship (FFUSC) launched in 2025, which featured open in-game qualifiers and USD 30,000 prize pools. Garena stated it will continue investing in community-driven and grassroots competitions to strengthen the North American ecosystem.
