October gets even spookier in Brawl Stars — with new Halloween-themed game modes and the horror-inspired Dead Game event.

It’s time to hunt for a zombie head, move a coffin around the game map, and accumulate lots of kills. The Brawl Stars excitement has become reasonably darker to celebrate the spookiest of seasons. The Dead Game community event is here, alongside fresh adventures in the monstrous lands.

Brawl Stars: the Dead Game event explained

Dead Game is a community event in Brawl Stars, which… well, it motivates players to accumulate dead opponents on their accounts.

  • Each takedown you achieve in any game mode is added to the general count.
  • When the Brawl Stars community reaches specific takedown milestones, everyone gets a new reward box: Dead Box.

The details of the Brawl Stars Dead Game are nicely explained in the video below. The Dead Boxes may be even cooler than Mega Boxes.

How to get Dead Boxes in Brawl Stars

This new box is the main prize of the Dead Game event. Brawl Stars will give Dead Boxes for free to each and every player — but we need to combine our efforts and accumulate a lot of takedowns.

  • With 5B takedowns, everybody in Brawl Stars gets Double XP.
  • 10B takedowns — Hypercharge Starr Drop for your brawlers.
  • If the community accumulates 15B takedowns, there will be twice more daily Starr Drops.
  • 20B takedowns are the main goal in the Dead Game. Brawl Stars players will get 10 Dead Boxes on October 31.

What’s in the Dead Boxes?

Good things may drop from your Dead Boxes, but the selection is random (traditionally for Brawl Stars). The exact set of items is impossible to predict. We can only take a look at the list of possible rewards.

  • Halloween-themed skins
  • Pins, Profile Icons, and Sprays — all connected to the spooky season in Brawl Stars
  • Items to power up your brawlers: Coins, Star Powers, Gadgets, and Hypercharges
  • Gems and Bling
  • Brawl Stars characters: brawlers

Skins and Halloween items are locked for this event, like SpongeBob Brawl Stars items were. So, don’t hesitate to get yourself whatever you like!

New game modes during Brawl-O-Ween

While any knockdown is good for the Dead Game count, you may get interested in special Halloween modes — or Brawl-O-Ween events. They rotate daily, and only two are available at the same time. Special Zombie modes double the number of takedowns.

Payload

You need to stay close to the minecart of your team to make it move towards the goal. You also should stop the minecart of your opponents by standing near it. It’s not easy to do, as the other teams want to achieve the same, and the players are ready to battle. The minecarts look like coffins, which add the Halloween atmosphere to the mode.

Zombie Plunder

It’s a classic Catch the Flag mode but with zombie heads instead of flags. Advance to the territory of your opponents, steal their zombie head, and deliver it to your home zone. You need to think about defense as well: the head of your team must be protected.

Volley Brawl

Send the zombie head to the side of your opponents. Kick the head and let it reach the indicated landing spot without being taken by the other team. Make sure the head doesn’t move towards your side.

How to achieve more knockouts in Brawl Stars: Tips

The simplest advice would be: “Enjoy the game”. The more you play, the more kills you add to the Dead Game count — sure, when your brawler dies it is also a takedown. But to be on the winning side, check out some general tips below.

  • Play different brawlers to try out different styles. For example, El Primo is about short-range fights, and they are risky. Brock has deadly long-shooting rockets, but you need to be good at movement and aiming.
  • Spend your Coins and Power Points wisely. It would be better to power up a few favorite brawlers to the max level instead of unlocking just a few levels for your entire Brawl Stars roster.
  • Switch between game modes regularly. This practice refreshes your experience and helps you find your strengths in the game.
  • Team up with friends to coordinate your actions. If you have team roles and a strategy, you will get a significant advantage over your opponents.
  • Don’t get upset because of the losses. They are an experience that helps you understand the game, your characters, and possible strategies. You’ll get stronger after that!
