Just like that, Team Falcons PH is out of the playoffs.

The opening match of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 16 saw a clash between two titans- Team Liquid PH (TLPH) and Team Falcons PH (FLCN). The match was short, yet intense, with TLPH taking the series with a 3-1 score.

Through a post-match press conference, the soaring falcons reflected on their run this season and what they could have done better.

FLCN had a rough MPL PH Season 16 Regular Season run. The team went on a painful losing streak in the first half, dropping to the bottom of the leaderboard. However, they refused to stay down. The team rallied in the second half with renewed determination to clutch the final playoff spot.

However, the glory did not last long as they made a first-round exit on Day 1 of the playoff stage. They lost to TLPH 1-3, who are on a trophy-collecting run this year. Just like that, their story in the MPL PH Season 16 was cut short.

Coach Mohammad "Moody" Samal, along with the rest of the team, took this defeat with a smile. He explains that their comeback moment in the regular season was his highlight this season. Despite falling short, he is still happy with how the team pushed through despite all odds stacked against them.

"It is what it is, right? We accept our defeat because it's obvious that they (TLPH) were better today," Coach Moody stated.

Despite the smiles on their faces, there’s a quiet sadness behind them, the kind that comes from knowing they could’ve done better. Reflecting on their miracle run in the Regular Season, Roamer Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo said that they did not have a satisfying run this season.

“For me, we were just very lucky during that time,” Owgwen shared.

With this defeat, Team Falcons exits the MPL PH Season 16 Playoff stage and will have to reset for next season.
