The popular esports team, OG Esports, recently founded a partnership between the football team, Selangor Red Giants. Sadly, it has come to an end.
It is always a sad day to see a towering esports team end a collaboration that was loved by the community. Popular team, OG Esports, teamed up with the popular football team, the Selangor Red Giants, back and March, but have officially announced the end of their partnership, which happens to be right before the M7 Championship begins.
Here is what we know, including a look back at the legendary partnership and their accomplishments together.
M7 Championship is set to begin; OG Esports and Selangor Red Giants Esports set to end
If you know anything about the world of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, you would know that the partnership between OG Esports and Selangor Red Giants, which began back in March, 2025, was legendary amongst the scene.
Since then, the partnership created a legacy that will be hard to surpass in the future. The partnership took hold of two back-to-back championship wins in season 15 and 16, creating quite a few legendary moments.
They even won back-to-back championships in the MSC Finals, giving the team an incredible four-peat.
“What began as a bold alliance in March 2025 evolved into a masterclass in competitive excellence,” said Selangor Red Giants. “By blending OG's legendary winning mentality with the raw, unstoppable hunger of the Selangor Red Giants, we didn't just play - we dominated.”
With such an exciting partnership concluding, it will be interesting to see how the OG Esports plays by themeselves ahead of (and during) the M7 Championship.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to begin M7 Championship
The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M7 Championship, which is an offline tournament for some of the best Mobile Legends players in the world, will take place from January 3, 2026, to January 25, 2026.
The event has a Group Stage event from the 3 to 6 of January and then transitions to a Swiss Stage beginning January 10. Then, beginning January 18, we will see a Knockout Stage with the best teams competing against each other, and the official Championship Stage happening on January 25.
