This is tells the story of Mythic SEAL’s “Thakhin Gyi,” Kenn, and his journey as the team’s brother figure in the MCS 2025 at EWC.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports can be really volatile. This is particularly true in regions where recognition can be hard to achieve and opportunities are mostly temporary. With that said, pro players come and go with every tournament, whether it be local or international. Sometimes, these talents don’t even get a chance to shine. But in the midst of the chaos, a select few manage to etch their names into the scene. Some can get lucky. However, most of the time, it’s through pure tenacity, diligence, and impenetrable drive.

There are tales being written, not only of newcomers and titans, but of veterans, fighting to cement their own legacy on the world stage. One such story is of Pyae "Kenn" Ko, the jungler of Mythic SEAL in the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2025 at Esports World Cup (EWC).

His veteran status earned him the nickname "Thakhin Gyi," which means Elder Master. Kenn is more than just a seasoned player; he’s the backbone of Mythic SEAL, a steady force that holds the team together.

In an exclusive interview with esports.gg, Kenn shared his journey and how he became the brother figure of his team.

Lessons from the global stage

There are always lessons to be learned when competing in high-stakes MLBB international events like the MSC and M-World series. When asked about his time with Falcon Esports during major international events like MSC 2022 and M4, Kenn was quick to emphasize the lasting impact those experiences had on him, not just as a player but as a leader.

“First, staying humble, no matter how high you climb, overconfidence can cost you everything. Second, success often comes down to the right person at the right time, whether it’s a clutch play or a strategic call. Recognizing who thrives under pressure is key. And finally, consistency wins championships. Flashy moments get hype, but it’s the daily discipline, the unshakable fundamentals, that build legacies.”

Those tournaments didn’t just test his skills; they forged his current mindset. Kenn now carries these battle-hardened lessons into every match and every huddle with Mythic SEAL.

Leadership on and off the Land of Dawn

As the oldest and most experienced member of Mythic SEAL, Kenn wears many hats. He’s a strategist, a motivator, and a mentor all in one. But according to him, being the “big brother” of the squad doesn’t feel like pressure; it feels like purpose.

“I’ve grown into this role, and now it feels natural to support my teammates, whether that’s through strategy, morale, or just being someone they can rely on. The trust we’ve built makes it less about pressure and more about pride in leading this squad.”

He makes calls with confidence, trusts his teammates’ instincts, and ensures that every voice is heard, both during matches and in day-to-day team interactions. This is why he is known as the big brother of the team, always there to support everyone through thick and thin.

However, Kenn knows he won’t be in the driver’s seat forever, and he’s already keeping an eye on who might take the reins next. Two names stood out when asked who he sees as the next leaders in the making: the team’s Hein "Niko" Htet and EXP Laner Kyaw "Khunn" Htet.

“Because of their passion, game sense, leadership, and social awareness,” he explained. “They’re showing signs of being more than just great players, they have the mindset to guide others.”

What keeps him going?

Every MLBB pro player has a reason to keep going. Team Falcon PH’s Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel, for example, is motivated by money. Even Grant "Kelra" Pillas from ONIC PH once shared how money is one of the driving factors that kept them from slacking off.

After years in the competitive MLBB scene, Kenn’s motivation remains strong and personal.

“At this point, it comes down to three things: passion, commitment, and our fans,” he said. “As long as those three things stay strong, I’ll keep giving everything I’ve got.”

It’s clear that for him, competing isn’t just a job, it’s a calling. Every scrim, every bootcamp, every tournament is another step in his ongoing pursuit of excellence. It looks like his hard work paid off. After missing out on international MLBB events for a year, he is finally back on the stage. With it, new fans who appreciate his efforts in not just elevating his own play, but uplifting his entire team.

A message to Mythic SEAL fans

Before wrapping up, Kenn had a heartfelt message for those who continue to cheer for Mythic SEAL, both online and in the stands.

“Thank you to all the fans and MLBB community who support us or watch our games. We’re trying our best to deliver the best performance and results.”

Mythic SEAL will open the Knockout Stage with a match against ONIC Indonesia. It’s a tough competition considering they are up against the kings of the MLBB Professional League (MPL) ID. But it’s also the perfect test, not just of how far the team has grown, but of Kenn’s resolve and hunger to prove he still belongs among the best on the international stage.
