Check out our build guide for the Marcel in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), featuring his items, skills, emblems, and combos.
The new support hero in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Marcel, is finally here. Together with his split soul, Clemar, they snap pictures of everyone with a camera, causing time to be frozen still for a brief moment. This stasis effect stops everything from moving, including projectiles. Additionally, both allies and enemies are affected by the stasis effect, making team communication very important. Because of this, Marcel is quite a complex hero to use.
To help you out, here is a build guide for Marcel in MLBB, including the support hero’s best items, skills, emblem, combos, and counters.
Skill analysis for Marcel in MLBB
Passive: Platinum Snap

Marcel’s split soul, Clemar, enters the camera to freeze the moment. Marcel’s Basic Attack deals moderate Physical Damage that scales with his Attack and Defenses, but it cannot Crit and does not benefit from Attack Speed. Additionally, bonus HP is partially converted into Hybrid Defense.
Clemar automatically snaps photos of nearby enemy heroes, briefly triggering a Frozen Moment and dealing True Damage based on a portion of their Max HP (this can trigger attack effects). The snapshot also grants a shield of similar strength to Marcel and a nearby allied hero.
This effect has a short cooldown per target, which can be reduced slightly whenever Marcel lands Basic Attacks on that same enemy.
Skill 1: Framed Moment

Clemar focuses on an area around Marcel, Slowing enemy heroes within range. After a short delay, he completes the shot, dealing Physical Damage that scales with Marcel’s Attack and Defenses to enemies in the area and briefly immobilizing them.
Skill 2: Tracking Shot

Artist inspiration time! Marcel enters a Tracking Haste state for a short duration, gaining increased Movement Speed. This bonus becomes significantly stronger when moving toward enemy heroes.
Recast: Marcel dashes in the target direction, leaving a framing phantom behind. If Framed Moment is active, Clemar stays at the original location to continue shooting.
Ultimate: Golden Hour

Marcel and Clemar perform a joint shoot. After a brief delay, Clemar takes a wide-angle shot of a designated area for a short duration. During this time, Marcel enters Tracking Haste while inside the area.
All other units are placed into a Frozen Moment, becoming unable to act and immune to all effects except those from Marcel. Ranged Basic Attacks and projectiles are also frozen in place and will resolve after the effect ends.
Golden Hour also resets the cooldown of Platinum Snap for each enemy hero affected.
Best Marcel item build in MLBB

You will want to start with Tough Boots with the Encourage Blessing for the extra Hybrid Defense bonus. Follow it up with a Thunder Belt to stack up even more Hybrid Defense for doing basic attacks once every four seconds. If you are facing enemies with heavy sustain (healing or shield), build Dominance Ice next. Otherwise, get an Oracle to enhance your own sustain effect.
Once you have your core items, check whether your enemy mainly deals Skill Physical Damage or Basic Attack Damage. Antique Cuirass is a good option if you are dealing with enemies like Lapu-Lapu or Granger. If you want to counter Basic Attack heroes like Wanwan or Freya, go for Chastise Pauldron. You can even build both if you want. However, make sure you save one last slot for either an Immortality or a Magic Defense item.
If you need one more Magic Defense item, check if your enemies deal burst damage or continuous magic damage. You can counter heroes like Esmeralda and Lylia with Radiant Armor. As for burst heroes like Gord and Cecilion, go for Athena’s Shield.
Recommended emblem and battle spell for Marcel

To complement the item build above, use this Custom Support Emblem set:
The first slot is quite flexible. Agility is good if you want to rotate faster. Otherwise, go for Firmness for more defense. The second slot is Tenacity to increase defense when you reach low HP. The final slot can be Quantum Charge for extra movement speed and healing. However, you can also use Concussive Blast if you want extra AoE damage, which can be useful in the early game.
For the Battle Spell, you will want to suppress the enemy for as long as possible. You can go for Petrify and combo it with your Passive or Ultimate skill. Otherwise, you can go for Purify if you are facing enemies with a lot of Crowd Control
Easy combo tips to learn
Marcel is one of the heroes who can stack Thunderbelt easily. His Passive: Platinum Snap is considered a Basic Attack. This means you can activate the item’s effect just by getting close to an enemy. You don’t need to do any basic attack, but it can help a lot to reduce the cooldown of the passive effect. A lot of players miss the fact that your Passive effect can also provide shields to nearby allies. If you have good team coordination, you can build Flask of the Oasis to increase the shield effect.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your allies are also affected by your Ultimate: Golden Hour. Be careful when playing with allies that use melee or short-ranged heroes, as you can break their combo with the statis effect. It is recommended not to use Marcel if you are playing with heroes like Freya, Fredrinn, Ling, or Lancelot. Even better, just don’t play this hero if you don’t have a 5-man squad. It’s difficult to play this hero without proper communication with teammates.

Hero and item counters for Marcel
Hero counters
Heroes that can move faster than Marcel, like Ling, Lancelot, or Harith, can easily avoid his stasis effect. Additionally, you will struggle to catch most heroes, who don’t need to get too close to targets. Avoid locking in Marcel if the majority of the heroes in the enemy draft are not melee units.
Item counters
Marcel thrives when paired with heroes who can spam projectiles like Kimmy and Granger. If you get caught with his Ultimate: Golden Hour, you will need to survive the barrage of statis projectiles that will land on you all at once. That said, items like Immortality, Athena’s Shield, or Guardian Helmet will help you survive lethal blows.
