MLBB MSC and MWI will be part of the EWC 2026.

The biggest mobile esports title in the world, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), is making a comeback in next year’s Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026. This follows its record-breaking performance in 2025, outperforming all the other featured titles by a large margin in terms of viewership and popularity.

MLBB esports shatter records at the 2025 Esports World Cup

The EWC 2025 set the stage for record-smashing numbers for MLBB. According to Esports Charts, MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) 2025, the league’s mid-season event, accounted for over a quarter of EWC viewership, with over 50.2 million Hours Watched. This tournament saw the legends, Team Liquid PH, complete their trophy cabinet after defeating the defending champions SRG.OG.

The MLBB Women's Invitational (MWI) 2025 also had its share of glory. It’s the largest women’s tournament for EWC 2025, reaching 468,976 peak concurrent views. Overall, it’s ranked 10th in the most-watched games in the event, with 3.78 million hours watched. It surpassed massive titles like Overwatch, which has 4.76 million hours watched, and the rising competitor, Honor of Kings, which has 3.66 million hours watched. The tournament saw Team Vitality taking the crown with a flawless record, not dropping a single series.

With numbers this massive, it’s no surprise that MLBB will make a comeback in next year’s EWC 2026 event. According to Tiger Xu, Global Head of MLBB Esports at MOONTON Games, this partnership goes beyond just hosting esports events.

“Our ongoing partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation reflects how MOONTON Games is looking to drive the industry forward. For us, it's more than just hosting tournaments. This partnership is our way of shaping the esports ecosystem, creating sustainable growth, and setting the standard for esports excellence.”

However, before the excitement builds for EWC 2026, the year isn’t over yet for MLBB Esports. Fans can still look forward to the M7 World Championship, the grand culmination of MLBB’s annual competitive circuit, where the world’s best teams will battle for the ultimate title.

The stage is set to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia. It will feature 22 of the world’s best MLBB teams, competing for the title of world champions. This year features some interesting storylines with North America losing its slot and Japan returning to the world stage through the Wild Card event.
