New heroes are set to join the Marvel Rivals roster every month from Season 3

In the recent Dev Vision video, NetEase Games announced its new hero release scheduled for Marvel Rivals. There were several new additions to the game at launch that weren't in the beta. Then two more at Season 1, two more at Season 1.5, one set to arrive with Season 2, and another at Season 2.5.

Now, more heroes will arrive on their own, but more more frequently. When Season 3 begins, Marvel Rivals will introduce a brand new hero or villain to the game every month. That will see two heroes each season, as seasons are now scheduled to last just two months in total.

This speeds up the pace at which content will be delivered to the game. You can expect new themes, new maps, new Battlepasses, new costumes and cosmetics, and new in-game events much more often with the new seasonal format.

The developers state that with the addition of new heroes so frequently, they will also closing look at how their systems and functions work on a regular basis. This could very well mean more balance adjustments, Team-Up Ability changes, and a wild change in the gameplay meta just about all the time.

The team notes that they will provide more details just prior to the launch of Season 3. Until then, we've got Season 2 to look forward to. Emma Frost and Ultron are coming, the Hellfire Gala is happening on Krakoa, and there's plenty to discover.
