The esports world has a lot of recognizable figures, but sometimes we forget the incredible management teams contributing to these major organization's success. One of these teams is none other than T1, the prestigious organization known for their League of Legends domination. Sadly, T1's COO, John Kim, has died earlier today after struggling with health issues since early July.

A heartfelt message from T1 announced the passing of John Kim. The team acknowledged and highlighted his incredible efforts over the past year and 10 months he spent with the organization serving as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining T1, John Kim was the Co-Founder of The tool is used to record game footage and detect game highlights for 13-competitive esports titles for players and coaches to improve.

"John has been instrumental in building T1, worked tirelessly for our players and staff and he will be missed dearly. While we mourn the loss of our dear friend and colleague, we will also continue to celebrate his life and the time we had with him," read T1's announcement.

Other places where John Kim served at were Meta Gaming back in 2017 and Akshon Media's Esports division. All this experience, passion, and character is sadly no longer with us, leaving T1 with a vacant COO position that is hard to fill. The entire family extends their condolences and prayers to John Kim's family and friends as they go through this difficult time.

In related T1 news, the organization yesterday announced big changes to their League of Legends division. The core of the coaching staff, Yang “Daeny” Dae-in and Lee “Zefa” Jae-min, have been released. For now, both Son “Stardust” Seok-hee and Kim “Moment” Ji-hwan will serve as the interim League of Legends coaching staff for the organization's team.
