A LoL Worlds 2025 without T1 would feel very strange, but the team made sure not to disappoint, comfortably securing their spot against DK.

Only one spot remains, and it’s a battle between Dplus KIA and T1 Esports. On one side is DK, a team that has never missed a LoL Worlds appearance. On the other hand is T1, the organization that draws the largest viewership to the tournament with one of the biggest fan bases in esports history. Only one could win, and T1 didn't fail their mission to be at the LoL Worlds 2025.

T1 vs DK at the LCK Summer 2025

Match 1

The first match was a dominant performance from DK, as a struggling T1 failed to make an impact on the map. Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram stood out, with Corki proving decisive even in a tough bot lane matchup. ShowMaker was equally unstoppable, particularly now that Cassiopeia has emerged as a strong pick in the mid-lane. The game ended in 30 minutes, giving some confidence to DK, who ended up being lost on the next maps.

Match 2

This match showcased T1 at their best. When the team decides to take over, they do it decisively. Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong silenced all doubters with an incredible performance on Sivir, carrying the team alongside an equally strong Aiming. Despite DK’s dominant top lane, they couldn’t escape the impact of one of the LCK’s top junglers, Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun, who made history with the first Jarvan IV pentakill in the Korean league. And the 1-1 was settled.

Match 3

The third match was a complete T1 stomp. Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok looked extremely comfortable on Orianna, while his Viktor opponent seemed hesitant. Both Oner and Choi "Doran" Hyeon-jun established heavy early-game pressure, dominating the lane despite DK having what appeared to be the stronger composition.

Match 4

The Rammus support and the Morgana mid caught everyone off guard. DK attempted a strange pick to try to get back into the game, but it wasn’t enough to intimidate T1, who were dominating with insane plays and Oner’s aggressive dives. The unconventional picks failed to make an impact in a match that was essentially a stomp from the start, with T1 firmly securing their path to LoL Worlds 2025 qualification.

T1 at the LoL Worlds 2025

Hanwha Life, KT Rolster, and Gen.G had already secured their spots for LoL Worlds 2025. This match was the final chance for both teams to claim the last LCK berth, and T1 came out on top. With this qualification, Faker will attend his 10th Worlds, further cementing his legacy as one of the most influential players in the scene. On the other hand, this will be the first LoL Worlds Championship without DK in attendance.
