For the first time, Wild Rift will get an exclusive champion and it looks like it could be Norra, the powerful yordle and Yummi’s master.

On Oct. 27, League of Legends: Wild Rift celebrated its fifth anniversary. To reward the dedication and love of its community, Riot Games announced several updates coming in the next year, including the addition of an exclusive champion for the game. And fans might already have a clue who it is!

Wild Rift announces exclusive champion

During the Wild Rift anniversary live, we got the incredible news that the mobile game is releasing its first exclusive champion. The developers didn't let us with the name, but we might know who it is due to the clues they left us.

In a recent X post, Wild Rift revealed that the new champion will be a mage designed for the mid lane. While this detail alone didn’t give much to speculate on, the accompanying image sparked enough clues for fans to start pointing to one name. Norra, the yordle, might be the first exclusive champion coming to the Wild Rift.

Who is Norra?

If you’re not familiar with League of Legends lore, you might not recognize this character. Riot first teased Norra back in 2019, around the time they released Yuumi. When they revealed Yuumi’s lore, it gave us a glimpse into Norra’s story.

She is a yordle enchanter who lives with her cat and both explore the material and spirit realms. "Yuumi would use her magic to protect Norra from harm, and would warm her feet when they returned home," as we can read from the cat's lore official page.

One day, Norra vanished. “Norra had gone somewhere so perilous that she destroyed the portal as she traveled,” the tale goes. Yuumi knew she had to find her and turned to her master's Book for help. Each of Book’s thousand pages opened a path to a different location. It also contained the magical lines connecting the material and spirit realms.

Together, Yuumi and Book embarked on an arduous journey through dangerous and unfamiliar lands. They were determined to rescue their master and bring her home.

Though unlikely companions, Yuumi and Book have become fast friends, bound by their shared devotion to Norra. Yuumi continues to search tirelessly for any sign of her master. She was hoping that one day she could return to the simple joys of napping in the sun by Norra’s side.

Norra's in the League of Legends universe

However, this isn’t Norra’s first appearance as a champion. She has already been featured in other League of Legends games. The yordle was first introduced in Legends of Runeterra as the first of four champions exclusive to the game. She debuted as part of the Awakening expansion, which was released on August 31, 2022.

Then, two years later, she came to Teamfight Tactics (TFT). She was introduced in the Magic n' Mayhem (Set 12), released in July 2024. She was part of the Portal deck, with other champions: Ezreal, Galio, Jayce, Kassadin, Ryze, Taric, and Zoe. At the time, she came to the game as the five-star unit from the Portal synergy, which would give 1500 shield and a GIGA portal with 10 elements on the board.

The Brawl shopkeeper

After her appearance in TFT, Norra remained largely absent from the Rift until April 2025. That month marked the release of LoL Season 2 with the Spirit Blossom theme, alongside the launch of the Brawl game mode. And who was the shopkeeper? None other than our adorable yordle, Norra. You might not have noticed her at first, but she was always there, helping you purchase your items.

When will Norra come to Wild Rift?

Even though the clues all point to Norra, we will still need Riot Games' confirmation that she is coming to Wild Rift. Nevertheless, the new champion will be released somewhere in 2026, as the company revealed.

The same happens for her kit. We don't know a thing about it, but since she is a master at conjuring inter-dimensional portals that lead to and from the material or spirit realms, maybe that will be part of her kit. In the TFT kit, the Portals were known for their powerful shields, which can be a characteristic brought to Wild Rift. For now, you can check some of her in-game models from LoR and TFT.
