Jankos steps back from LEC 2025 to co-stream, prioritize his well-being, reconnect with family, and share insights as a veteran jungler.

Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski, one of the best junglers in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) circuit, announced that he will be taking a break from the competitive scene in 2025. Since he started playing competitively in 2013, Jankos has been a regular in the LEC and formerly EU LCS, achieving multiple trophies along the way.

However, this year, the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2019 champion and five-time LEC champion is more interested in exploring a new role in the LoL esports ecosystem. Rather than competing on the stage, Jankos is to represent Rogue to serve as an official co-streamer for the 2025 LEC Winter Split, which also includes Marc Robert "Caedrel" Lamont, Niklot "Tolkin" Stüber, Kamel "Kameto" Kebir, and other popular names.

A temporary break, not retirement

Despite stepping back from competition, Jankos has made it clear that he has no intention of retiring from professional play anytime soon. Reflecting on his decision, he shared his thoughts on his personal Instagram and X.

"As you may have seen, I’ll be co-streaming instead of competing in the LEC for 2025. This offseason forced me to really look into myself and what I wanted for the future. I love competition and I have no intention of leaving it. I’m still going to continue to work hard and connect with the people I care about the most, including you guys."

After years of intense competition, Jankos acknowledged feeling burnt out and chose to prioritize his well-being. While he received offers from LEC teams for the 2025 season, he declined them to focus on recharging and pursuing meaningful goals beyond financial incentives.

While I had offers to play in the 2025 LEC season, I didn’t sign them due to feeling of burnout. This was a decision I made. I don’t want to play just to be paid at the end of the day. I want to work towards something more.

Chance to reconnect with family, friends, and fans

Jankos also emphasized the importance of using this time to reconnect with his family and friends, something he has struggled to do consistently as a professional player. Expressing gratitude to the LEC and Rogue for the co-streaming opportunity, he shared his excitement about staying involved in the scene while offering a unique perspective as a veteran player.

I knew I wanted to stay connected to League and the LEC. My biggest pride is representing my region for over 10 years, my entire career. That’s why I’m so grateful to the LEC and Rogue for giving me the chance to be an official co-streamer.

"This opportunity also allows me to stay closer to my family and friends. Something I have missed during these years of nonstop grinding. I’m excited to share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years and my perspective on League with you."

An unexpected reunion with Perkz

For fans who are still eager to watch Jankos in action, he will continue to play competitively for IWillDominate’s stream team, The Ruddy Sack (RS) in the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC), together with a former teammate from G2 Esports, Luka "Perkz" Perković.

While the team takes a more relaxed approach, with a lot of trolling to be expected, the team will still aim for the win. Jankos will live-stream every match and practice session, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at his gameplay and interactions.

The 2025 LEC Winter Split will start on Jan.18. You can watch it together with Jankos via Twitch, with other co-steamer lineups, or through the LEC official channels on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok.
