JackeyLove spoke to media after their loss to Rogue on second half of Worlds group stage, teams performance and expectations.
Top Esports suffered their second loss in the Worlds 2022 group stage after a disappointing display against Rogue. While they had a good early start, Rogue controlled the late game and eventually took the win in the end. With losses to both DRX and Rogue, TES now sit in third place with a 1-2 record after the first half of the group stage. Following their match, TES bot laner Yu "JackeyLove" Wen-Bo sat down with the media for a post-match scrum.
What surprised JackeyLove about Rogue?
Heading into Worlds 2022, TES were favorites in Group C with Rogue coming in second place. However, things have not gone according to prediction with Rogue currently sitting in first place with a 3-0 record. While they are still three games left, TES cannot afford to drop more games if they want to finish in first place.
JackeyLove expected Rogue to be a tough competition in the event. However, he was surprised about one aspect of their game play.
"In terms of the first round, I watched the first two matches of Rogue they have a very high executing ability as a team; and they played really well in the games. So we definitely expected that they could play at a very high level. As for the part they surprised me the most, I would say that they can maximize the strength of one composition really well."

"So far i would say that the form or synergy between us hasnt reached the ideal level in our opinion"
With so many expectations on TES for Worlds 2022, JackeyLove admits that they're yet to reach peak level.
Even though they currently sit in third place, TES can still finish in first place by winning their remaining games. Moreover, the team has enough time to analyze their mistakes and practice as they do not play until October 15.
"After losing these two matches to Rogue and DRX, I felt like this actually provided a huge room and space for us a team to improve. We kind of know which places we need to make adjustments on. Definitely the enemy team played really well and they had a very good performance but we still have a chance. So far i would say that the form or synergy between us hasn't reached the ideal level in our opinion. So definitely we will have more preparations and adjustments coming into the second round."
JackeyLove also pointed out specific mistakes they needed to work for the remaining games at Worlds.
"I do think that the frequency of getting killed by the enemy when we are having lane swap during the mid game needs to reduce in the upcoming matchups. Also we have to do better in the early ganks in the early game."
If TES are able to correct these mistakes, it will be hard for other teams to stop them in the second half of the group stage.
