G2 Esports defeated KC to claim the LEC Versus trophy, solidifying their status as one of the most accomplished organizations in Europe.

In their 10th consecutive finals appearance, G2 Esports triumphed over Karmine Corp in an unbelievable series that determined the LEC Versus champion. For Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard Winther, the victory marked his 16th title in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC), solidifying his legacy as one of the region’s most decorated players.

There was nothing easy about G2 overcoming Karmine Corp (KC) in the LEC Versus Grand Finals. While the team rose through two earlier matches, seemingly one step away from lifting the trophy, the French organization reignited hope for their fans and even threatened a reverse sweep. However, G2 refused to let the series slip away, closing out the series with a hard-fought 3–2 win.

Caps rose to the occasion, carrying his team to victory and saving critical moments throughout the matches. His remarkable consistency and clutch performances over the course of the tournament earned him the well-deserved title of MVP. This was his 16th title in the LEC, which makes him the most decorated player of the region. The organization secures its 18th title in the league.

The Spanish crowd was absolutely electric, creating an unforgettable atmosphere in the arena. The intensity of the series, which stretched to a decisive fifth game, even made it possible to hear the iconic Silver Scrapes echoing through the cheers. Over 15,000 fans packed the Grand Finals in Badalona, witnessing every thrilling moment firsthand.

The First Stand

With this victory, G2 Esports has secured its spot as the European representative in The First Stand. The first League of Legends tournament of the season goes from March 16 to March 22 in São Paulo, Brazil. The team joins the already qualified Gen.G, BNK FEARX, Team Secret Whales, and Loud. The two Chinese organizations and the North American one will be defined in the upcoming days.
