Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok has reportedly re-signed with T1, lengthening his contract to 2029. After more than 10 years with the team, the goat of League of Legends has now etched in stone that he will continue his journey. Although many expected 2025 to be his last foray with T1, Faker’s contract extension keeps him with the Korean LoL team for another 4 years.

Faker re-signs – T1’s hopes renewed
2025 has been an interesting year so far for T1’s LoL roster. With a second-place finish behind Gen.G at the Mid-Season Invitational, the team stumbled to a third-place finish at the recent Esports World Cup 2025. However, that has not stopped the T1 faithful from cheering for their favorite roster. With the 2025 League of Legends World Championship now on the horizon, T1 has confirmed that Faker has re-signed his contract.
In a post made via X, as well as a video on YouTube and a dramatic reveal during the Red Bull Homegrounds event, T1 announced that Faker re-signs with the team. The contract extension keeps the prolific mid-lane player with the reigning world champions until 2029. With the chance of a hat-trick of Worlds victories on the cards, T1’s challenge could easily extend to 2029.
Having earlier today hit the massive milestone of 3,500 kills in the LCK, Faker’s re-signing is a follow-up of huge importance. With a possible sixth World Championship in 2025, Faker looks to further cement his place in the LoL history books. The player’s long journey with T1 has stood the test of time and continues to produce results.
The aptly named “Unkillable Demon King” remaining in LoL’s professional scene and with T1 will keep fans excited for the foreseeable future. There is still a long road ahead for the LCK 2025, before Worlds 2025 comes our way in October. However, with that said, Faker’s decision to re-sign with T1 is set to take the team a long way.
