In 2026, the ERLs are getting some updates. Take a look at the upcoming schedule, rule changes, and the LEC Versus event here.

The EMEA Regional Leagues (ERLs) have been opening doors for many talented players, providing a space for young talent to develop, compete, and even rise to the international stage in League of Legends. Big changes are coming to the ERLs in 2026, so here’s what you need to know.

ERLs 2026 schedule

The season will return in 2026 with three splits filled with exciting matches. The 13 ERLs will continue to develop emerging stars and provide opportunities for competitive play at the regional level. The ERLs' schedules are preliminary and may vary for each league.

  • ERL Winter Split: 7 January - 8 March
  • ERL Spring Split: 23 March - 7 June
  • ERL Summer Split: 26 June - 17 September

In 2025, Los Ratones won the first two editions, while Karmine Corp Blue won the Summer tournament. Here is the official schedule for the 2026 events.

  • EMEA Masters Winter: 9 March - 15 March
  • EMEA Masters Spring: 8 June - 25 June
  • EMEA Masters Summer: 21 September - 19 October

LTR restrictions

The rules of the tournaments will be the same as in 2025. If you would like to take a look at them in detail, check out the Riot Games ERLs changes article.

However, there’s an update to the Locally Trained Representatives (LTR) rule. Previously, ERL teams were required to field at least two LTRs. However, due to difficulties in meeting this requirement in certain regions, Riot updated the rule in 2025, allowing some ERLs to increase the limit.

In 2026, that rule will be officially removed. "Instead, the leagues will be free to develop and apply their own guidelines that are most appropriate for their region," Riot clarified. "Removing the LTR mandate doesn’t mean our goals are shifting away from developing young talent and strengthening regional identity in each league. Fostering regional talent is what enables our TOs to engage with local fans and connect with meaningful sponsorships," they added.

Two ERLs make their way to LEC Versus in 2026

In the next year, the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) will have a new tournament. For the first time, the LEC Versus will feature two ERLs. This brings the opportunity for many talented players to have the Tier 1 experience.

EMEA Masters Summer 2025 champions Karmine Corp Blue and two-time EMEA Masters champions Los Ratones have earned their guest spots in LEC Versus. This does mean that both teams will miss their regular season back in their ERLs. Riot is working with both tournament organisers to allow flexibility in their respective Winter Split Playoffs.
