They beat two of the biggest tournament favorites, and now CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) and Anyone’s Legend (AL) treat us to a spectacular advancement match.
To say it’s surprising to see these teams battle in Round 3 for Playoff qualification would be to underestimate the power of the upset CFO and AL brought to the League of Legends World Championship 2025 (LoL Worlds 2025).
CFO defeated T1, the defending World Champions. Flying Oyster is from the smaller Pacific region, and no one expected such a feat from them.
Anyone's Legend took down Gen.G, the #1 seed from Korea, which is considered the strongest region in competitive League of Legends.
The winners of this match secured the Playoff spot. It was Anyone's Legend's turn to be the favorites, but CTBC Flying Oyster could pull off another upset.

Match recap
The match was spectacular and close. CFO raised the hope for their region to beat AL and advance to the Playoffs at LoL World 2025 from Swiss Round 3. CTBC Flying Oyster won Game 1, and they were really close to securing the decisive one.
Anyone’s Legend suppressed their opponents with effective team fights and objective steals in Game 2. AL were better at a crucial moment in Game 3 — to not let their opponents grow an unreachable advantage.
With this win, Anyone’s Legend earned a spot in the final brackets of the League of Legends World Championship 2025.
CTBC Flying Oyster will play in Round 4 of the LoL Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage. Their opponents will be decided after the elimination matches on Oct. 19.
Game 1
The first half of the game was rather slow. Initially, it looked like Anyone’s Legend had the upper hand. They got the First Blood thanks to a good gank on Mid and secured the first Dragon right after that.
Still, the slow pace turned out to be more beneficial for Flying Oyster! They successfully took three Voidgrubs and then were busy with gank attempts on Top. It did not go too well because of good defense from AL. But eventually, the plan worked and brought a cascaded advantage.
CFO delivered a kill on Top, followed by one on Mid, secured Rift Herald, and took down the Mid tower. Al decided to fight back and lost four players to nothing. With the Dragon taken, CFO grew an almost 5k gold lead.
AL tried to contest Atakhan soon after that, but fell in the team fight. Anyone’s Legend still had a good objective win: Tarzan stole Baron. However, CFO killed all the opponents with that buff immediately.
CTBC Flying Oyster were respectfully cautious at the end. They continued their thorough and methodical play, and when AL rushed for a team fight, CFO responded with an Ace. It was a quadra kill for Doggo, and AL’s Nexus was destroyed.
Game 2
This game brought us much more action in the beginning. CFO dived bot successfully to take down Ziggs. Flying Oyster secured the first Dragon, and both teams lost players in the following fight.
AL dived on Top to kick off their offense. Soon after that, they secured Rift Dragon, pushed via Mid, and won a crucial fight around Dragon.
Atakhan ignited even more fights. CFO forced one to earn a man advantage for this objective, but after a few attempts, they lost it to AL. In the process, Tarzan stole the Dragon.
A similar fight was around Baron. CFO initiated, but couldn't oppose the teamfight prowess of their opponents. This time, it was Flandre who earned a quadra kill.
With the Baron buff, AL started a siege and took their match versus CFO LoL Worlds 2025 to Game 3.
Game 3
The teams returned to a cautious game start. Both were farming, and the interactions were limited to trades.
CFO took the first Dragon uncontested. AL secured the First Blood thanks to their dive on the top side of the river. CFO won a gank on Top. AL traded it for a tower on Bot. CFO got a kill and Rift Herald. AL answered in a few moments with two kills on Top.
The mid-game strongly shifted in favor of CFO. They won a well-coordinated team fight and took down two Mid towers. That brought a 3k gold advantage.
When it looked like AL was on the slope to losing the game, they pulled off a game-changing fight around Atakhan. Tarzan stole the objective, and Anyone’s Legend delivered an Ace.
CFO did not give up immediately. They tried to force team fights in the jungle, but the power of well-fed LeBlanc was totally tangible at this point.
AL went for the Dragon Soul, killed four opponents, and destroyed the base of CTBC Flying Oyster.
An important win for LPL and a great match for LCP
At some point during this tournament day, the mood of the Chinese crowd got very low. One LPL team failed to secure Playoffs today as Top Esports couldn’t win over KT Rolster. TES was one game down in their advancement match.
The victorious recovery of Anyone’s Legend brought the mood back to where it was after the first two rounds. The LPL representatives looked really good in the initial matches, and with AL being in the Playoffs, the whole region got an emotional boost. Perhaps, even BLG can strike back in that disturbing 1:1 realm.
CFO did not win, sure, but the team proved the power of their region on the international scene. The LCP can shine at a Worlds event! It’s reassuring for healthy competition, and we are looking forward to the next match of CTBC Flying Oyster.
A great year for CFO and AL
After the creation of LCP, the League of Legends Championship Pacific, CTBC Flying Oyster dominated in this combined region. The team won all three splits of LCP 2025:
- Season Kickoff
- Mid Season
- Season Finals
What is even more important for this team is that CFO shone brightly at international events.
- CFO finished 3rd–4th at the LoL First Stand 2025.
- They reached the top 6 at MSI 2025. It was AL who eliminated CFO back then.
- The Esports World Cup 2025 was the least successful for CFO, as they were 9th–10th.
Anyone's Legend competes in one of the strongest LoL regions, China. The competition here is crazy, but AL regularly reaches the top 3:
- 2nd in Split 1
- 1st in Split 2
- 3rd in Split 3
Internationally, AL are doing better, even if they skipped First Stand 2025.
- Anyone's Legend were in the top 3 at MSI 2025.
- At the Esports World Cup 2025, AL played in the grand final but lost to Gen.G. Their match at LoL Worlds 2025 was quite a revenge!
Round 3 of the LoL Worlds Swiss Stage also features best-of-one (Bo1) matches between 1:1 teams, on Oct. 18, and elimination matches between 0:2 teams, on Oct. 19.
After a short break, the tournament continues from Oct. 22 to Oct. 25 with more Swiss Stage advancements and eliminations.
