After LEC Versus, Los Ratones has officially come to an end. Caedrel and the players left touching messages for their fans.
In 2024, Marc "Caedrel" Robert Lamont brought together Los Ratones, one of the most unique projects in League of Legends (LoL). Following their elimination in LEC Versus, the streamer announced that the Los Ratones project came to an end.
This is a project I’ll never forget. I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved.
The End of Los Ratones
In his latest video, Caedrel confirmed that the Los Ratones project has officially come to an end. He reflects on the team’s journey in LEC Versus and how close they came to reaching the playoffs. The streamer revealed to be very proud of this team, and the project cannot happen without them.
"I’m very proud of the boys," he said. Even though the first week in LEC Versus didn’t go as planned, Caedrel remained proud of the team and their efforts to reach the playoffs. For him, all the players grew a lot throughout the experience, proving their talent and worth to everyone.
Addressing the recent online backlash, Caedrel said there’s no need for it. "We could have won the last match, but we didn’t. Our fate was in our hands. That’s the reality, no excuses," he added. "We were so close to ending that match that we let the world collapse around us."
The streamer also shared the team’s final emotional moments during their debrief, revealing that the project’s conclusion saddened everyone. "It’s hard to put into words what we’ve been through in the last couple of weeks," he stated. In the same segment of the video, Caedrel also revealed that Red Bull will be releasing a documentary with behind-the-scenes footage. There is still no official date.
Every beginning has an end, and according to Caedrel, the project will most likely not return. However, there’s a possibility that "the Avengers" could reunite for small activities like showmatches, though nothing is confirmed. "This is a project I’ll never forget. I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved," he concluded.
Without the fans, we wouldn’t be Los Ratones. You made this project possible, and we have to thank you all for that.
The future of the players
As for the players, each will now decide the next step in their careers. In a recent stream, Simon "Baus" Hofverberg revealed that he won’t continue as a professional player and will focus on his streaming instead. The remaining roster has not announced any decision yet.
Thanks to all the fans
At the end of the video, all the players left messages for the fans of the project. Carl Martin "Rekkles" Larsson described the experience as one of the best of his career. "Los Ratones were all about positivity. I got to spend time at home with my family, attend therapy every week, and experience far less stress than I did before," Rekkles added.
Meanwhile, Juš "Crownie" Marušič, the team’s ADC, said that Los Ratones had been the highlight of his career. "Everyone was so kind and supportive, and I believe we surprised everyone," he added, nearly in tears. Baus has also thanked both Caedrel and the teammates for the unique experience. "I'm happy that, even with the end of the project, I can call my teammates friends," he stated.
Tim "Nemesis" Lipovšek admitted that he didn’t expect the project to be more enjoyable than playing on big teams, but it turned out to be even better and unique. "Thank you to everyone who made this possible, and to all the fans for their support and gifts. I might have to buy a new wardrobe for everything," he laughed.
Veljko "Velja" Čamdžić emphasized that everything the team achieved, every trophy, was made possible by the fans’ support. "Without the fans, we wouldn’t be Los Ratones. You made this project possible, and we have to thank you all for that," he said.
Even Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi, who coached the team for just a few months, revealed how much everyone cared about the project. "Before I joined, I already felt that love for the project. For me, it was the most entertaining thing to watch," he laughed.
Los Ratones have won the EMEA Spring and Summer 2025 tournaments, as well as three Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) events. We wish the best of luck to all the players and staff in their future endeavors.
