Worlds 2021 will take place in Shenzhen, China starting November 6.

The biggest and most prestigious League of Legends tournament is back. Riot Games has announced the 2021 Worlds Championship will take place in Shenzhen, China on November 6.

The tournament will take place at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre. The stadium has a capacity of seating 60,334 people and is also the home of the Chinese Super League football club Shenzhen F.C.

The sports center hosted some events in the 2011 Summer Universiade. The NHL has also featured a game at the center between Calgary Flames and Boston Bruins in 2018.

When does Worlds 2021 Start?

Worlds 2021 will start on November 6, 2021 where the best League of Legends teams from across the world will gather for the mega-event.

Riot’s Worlds 2021 will be the third time the League of Legends event will take place in China. The country first hosted the Worlds Championship in 2017 (Beijing) and again last year (Shanghai). DAMWON Gaming emerged as the champions last year after a 3-1 victory over Suning. 

Shenzhen is China’s fifth-largest city and a leading financial center in the Asia-Pacific region. The city counts high technology, finance, logistics, and culture as its four pillars of development. The city’s growth was possible due to rapid Foreign Direct Investments after 1979. Sometimes popular as China’s Silicon Valley, Shenzhen is an Alpha- global city.
