It’s a mighty blow for T1 fans to see the defending World Champions in the elimination zone. The matchup feels pretty favorable for them, but 100 Thieves hope to pull off a mind-blowing upset.
After dropping two matches in the Swiss Stage of LoL Worlds 2025, T1 and 100T faced off to keep their tournament hopes alive. On one hand, it’s rather shocking to see Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and crew having such a rollercoaster of results. Still, T1 have been playing with the hearts of their fans a lot recently: in the regional split and international League of Legends esports events.
In a way, 100 Thieves were in a better position. They were not the tournament favorites, and any result was quite alright for them. The players were under less pressure: this match versus T1 was a wonderful experience.
Previously at LoL Worlds 2025, 100 Thieves defeated one jaggernout of a team, BLG in Round 1. They got other really strong opponents after that, Top Esports and Hanwha Life Esports — 100T lost and fell into the elimination zone.
Only one team could advance further. Everything about the elimination battle between T1 and 100 Thieves is here.

The tournament day on Oct. 24 featured another elimination match, and it also was a clash between the favorites and underdogs. BLG had no big problems eliminating Vivo Keyd Stars. This means having one LTA representative less in the pool of LoL Worlds 2025 participants.
100 Thieves versus T1: Match details and results
The teams approached this elimination match with different moods. For T1, it’s absolutely crucial to win. The reigning World Champions couldn’t fall out of the tournament that early. They certainly couldn’t get eliminated by a North American team!
For 100 Thieves, the challenge was immense, but even playing well against T1 would be considered a decent result. Winning here? That’s an achievement to be proud of, regardless of the next round.
The winners will have another elimination match at LoL Worlds 2025 — the last chance to secure a spot in the Knockout Stage.

Match recap: 100T vs T1 at LoL Worlds 2025
The fans can be satisfied with this match — on both sides. T1 won it, and the tournament favorites are still in the competition. 100 Thieves lost, but their level of play was impressive. What a way for this organization to leave LoL Worlds 2025 and even pro League of Legends!
Game 1 was surprisingly long. That was made possible thanks to amazing objective steals from Kim "River" Dong-woo. T1 were pretty patient to seal the deal properly. In Game 2, 100 Thieves shone with occasional fights across the Rift. Only small mistakes from them delivered a crucial advantage to T1.
The next opponent for T1 is Movistar KOI. It’s the last elimination round in LoL Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage.
100 Thieves announced their departure from the pro esports scene in LoL at the start of this season. The players made a good impact at this World Championship.
With this loss, only one LTA team remains at the tournament. FlyQuest face CFO in Round 5.
Game 1
T1 won this game as expected, but it was not the domination everyone expected.
Niship “Dhokla” Dosh became the first target of Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon and Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun after their rotation to the top lane. He fed the opponents with First Blood and struggled to level up his Ambessa.
On the bot lane, Doran aggressively pushed Ian Victor "FBI" Huang and Bill "Eyla" Nguyen. With the damage dealt, T1 secured the first Dragon, around a minute before Voidgrubs even spawned.
100 Thieves did not want to go silently into the night. They took two Voidgrubs and, later, Rift Herald. Dhokla struck back on top. Thanks to tricky movement, he traded his life for two opponents.
100T started to find impactful kills across the Rift, but the real momentum shift came when River stole both the Dragon and Atakhan. T1 responded with good team fights, but accumulating objectives became difficult for them.
Even Baron went for 100 Thieves on spawn, as they forced a fight before it.
Everything fell apart when 100 Thieves overstepped around the second Baron. The fight started well for them, but T1 earned an Ace at the end.
With the Baron buff and a Dragon Soul, T1 still played very cautiously. They waited for Elder Dragon. 100T tried to play around this buff but failed, so T1 won Game 1 in this LoL Worlds 2025 elimination match.
Game 2
The game’s flow kept the outcome uncertain until the very end. T1 succeeded in some situations, but 100 Thieves responded nicely.
With a clever push on mid, T1 started on a Dragon: River stole it after a somewhat miscalculated Smite from Oner — 4 HP on the creature. Lim "Quid" Hyeon-seung earned the First Blood on Faker. Thanks to Pantheon’s Ultimate, 100 Thieves could get a kill on Ryu "Keria" Min-seok and had an upper hand in some other fights.
T1 took three Voidgrubs and generally followed the pace. Still, there were some mistakes from them, like a whiffed Shockwave from Faker.
The trades continued across the map, and at some point, it looked like 100 Thieves could win this. They were so good at occasional kills, even if that wasn’t converted into meaningful objectives.
In one such occasion, 100 Thieves took down T1’s jungler but still did not go for Dragon. River wanted to buy his second item. That might be a mistake, as T1 players revived, started the Dragon, won a fight, and secured Atakhan.
That escalated quickly. 100 Thieves could not find an opening kill on Faker around Baron, and they lost that fight, too. With the Baron buff, T1 took a Dragon Soul, started a siege, and eliminated 100T from LoL Worlds 2025.
Round 5 is the last one for the LoL Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage. On Oct. 25, three more teams can earn their Playoffs spots.
The final brackets of the Knockout Stage start on Oct. 28.
