Runestones and the Seasonal Pass controversy
It’s not a secret that the new monetization system coming to Battlegrounds drove the conversation and that the actual content coming in the new update got relegated in importance. However, there is a time and place for everything and we shouldn't taint the Battlegrounds preview event with that issue. We have covered the topic in a specific article talking about Battlegrounds’ new Rewards Track and Tavern Pass.
Despite the importance of Battlegrounds monetization changes coming, it is paramount that players and the community in general, understand that streamers participating in this event are there to showcase the new Quests content. Many of them have expressed their opinion on Hearthstone Runestones and Battlegrounds monetization in Season 2, and, regardless of what they think, they shouldn't be targeted for something they were not responsible for.
Content creators are the most interested parties in the game to succeed and to thrive, and they only gain if the game is popular, not if Blizzard makes money. Let’s all enjoy this Battlegrounds Season 2 preview while we discover Quests and Rewards.
That’s all for now, but stay tuned to Esports.gg for more Hearthstone news and updates. See you next time in Bob’s Tavern.
