Hearthstone just revealed a bucket of new Paladin cards for the March of the Lich King expansion. Read on for details about the Dragon synergy!

More March of the Lich King cards have been revealed for Hearthstone’s latest expansion! This time, Wronchi showcased a group of Paladin cards over on YouTube! Esports.gg also had the chance to take a look at these cards ahead of the public reveal.

New March of the Lich King Paladin cards

The bucket of new March of the Lich King cards that Wronchi revealed include Timewarden, Daring Drake, Flight of the Bronze and Anachronos. Save for the Flight of the Bronze spell, all the other cards are Dragon minions.

Anachronos is also a Legendary minion that has a unique Battlecry. When played, the Dragon minion sends all other minions two turns into the future. This play on time isn’t new to the Bronze Dragonflight in Hearthstone and World of Warcraft lore, especially with the well-known presence of Nozdormu. However, Anachronos can lead to board disruptions and setups that happen a couple of turns ahead.

Meanwhile, Timewarden’s Battlecry can grant summoned Dragons both Taunt and Divine Shield until the end of the player’s next turn. As for Daring Drake, it has Rush and a Battlecry that gives it +1/+1 if the player is holding a Dragon.

Flight of the Bronze is a card that only adds to the Dragon synergy. When cast, it lets the player discover a Dragon. It also has the new Manathirst keyword, which means if the player has seven or more mana, Flight of the Bronze can summon a 5/5 Drake with Taunt.

Dragon Paladin potential

All of these cards are also for the Paladin class, meaning potential for a Dragon Paladin package. For example, playing Timewarden and Flight of the Bronze can mean a 5/5 Drake with Taunt on the board with Divine Shield.

Meanwhile, Flight of the Bronze also lets the player discover a Dragon, and Daring Drake can guarantee a buff thanks to that discovered minion before making use of Rush for board control. The value!

Of course, waiting for the right moment to use Anachronos can mean devastation if an opponent can’t deal with a wall of Dragon minions in the next two turns. Timewarden can help build that defensive board. Since Anachronos sends all other minions into the future, including the opponent's tokens, players should also make sure the account for board space.

These Dragon synergies give potential to control deck archetypes with a focus on minion-heavy boards. Since it’s Paladin, more buffs and Divine Shield synergy can work as well.

Will it be enough to fight against the new Death Knight class plus its Ghoul Charge Hero Power, Corpse mechanic and system of Runes? Only time will tell. It’s too bad players cannot be like Anachronos and step into the future!

More Hearthstone Dragons

Prior to Wronchi’s card reveals, the Amber Whelp was presented as a Neutral Dragon card for the March of the Lich King expansion. This card can have great potential for a Dragon-specific deck, allowing for control and activating Dragon synergies. This is because it deals three damage if the player is already holding a Dragon minion.

When compared to Wild cards, Amber Whelp’s Battlecry is reminiscent of the Wild card Blackwing Corruptor, only it’s a 3 mana 3/3 instead of a 5 mana 5/4. The Neutral March of the Lich King card can also be seen as a better Scalerider.

As for Standard Dragons, they include a bunch that can be seen via Hearthstone’s official card library. Currently, Paladin boasts Bronze Explorer, Amber Watcher and Brasswing as class-specific Dragon minions.

Don’t forget about the already revealed Paladin-specific cards as well, including the Blood Paladin package that has cards such as Blood Matriarch Liadrin, Blood Crusader, Sanguine Soldier, Seal of Blood plus Feast and Famine.

Hearthstone’s March of the Lich King expansion release date is December 6th. Until then, stay tuned on Esports.gg for more news and updates!
