New Hearthstone expansion: Lost City of Un'Goro

The Lost City of Un'Goro is Hearthstone's next expansion, and veteran players might remember the original Journey to Un'Goro from 2017. This time around, however, the Lost City of Un'Goro takes players back to the area with even more to discover. The expansion includes 145 new cards, introduces the new Kindred keyword, features new Story and Map cards, and brings back the classic Quest mechanic.

Lost City of Un'Goro release date

The new Hearthstone expansion launches on July 8. However, the Lost City of Un'Goro pre-release Tavern Brawl begins on July 1.

Ahead of these release dates, Blizzard Entertainment gave players a sneak peek of what they can expect in terms of the new cards. Quests, for those that remember, are one-mana spells that begin in a player's hand. The Lost City of Un'Goro expansion features a new legendary Quest card for each Hearthstone class, and Reanimated the Terror is the Quest belonging to the Death Knight one.

Meanwhile, a neutral legendary minion like Elise the Navigator also references the past while bringing something new to the future!

Hearthstone Kindred keyword explained

In Hearthstone, cards with the Kindred keyword gain a bonus if you played a matching minion type or spell school last turn. An example of a Kindred card is the Gravedawn Voidbulb card, which is a Shadow spell that belongs to the Priest Class.
