How It Works and Where to Watch

Hearthstone Battlegrounds Lobby Legends: Magic of Azeroth will be broadcast live on the game’s official YouTube channel from Sept. 3-4 starting at 12 a.m. PDT each day. The matches will kick off on Saturday and culminate to the top eight competitors happening on Sunday.

On the first day, all 16 competitors will be split into two different lobbies. Each of these lobbies will feature three matches. After each match, players will get points based on their finish. The first-place winner will get 7 points. Next, the player who takes the silver will receive 6 points and so on.

After these matches, the top four competitors from each lobby will advance to championship Sunday and play under the Check format. This means a competitor must reach a minimum of 20 points and then secure a first-place match finish. Both of these conditions must be met to win the Hearthstone Battlegrounds Lobby Legends: Magic of Azeroth crown.

The esports action will also be in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish.

Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 2

The upcoming Lobby Legends tournament coincides with the recent launch of Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 2. The new season features a new Rewards Track and Season Pass. It also sees the debut of Runestones, which refer to Hearthstone’s new virtual currency.

Players can get free and premium rewards on the Hearthstone Battlegrounds track, and those who want to select from four heroes need a Season Pass.

According to an official Blizzard announcement, there are no plans for Hearthstone Battlegrounds to use in-game gold. “Players who don’t want to spend real money or Runestones will still be able to enjoy the free rewards from the Battlegrounds Track,” Blizzard explained.

“Though the ability to choose from among four heroes at the beginning of a match is changing to a paid-only feature, all players can still play Battlegrounds for free,” the announcement added.
