Hearthstone Lunar New Year offers Free packs and a variety of cosmetic bundles. Check all about this celebration.

The time has come to celebrate Hearthstone’s Lunar New Year. As usual, players will have access to a Legendary Quest chain to get up to six free Hearthstone packs. Moreover, Hearthstone is offering special Lunar New Year cosmetics for Battlegrounds and Constructed. Join me in the celebration.

Free Hearthstone Packs with Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year will start on February 2nd, it will last for 2 weeks and will offer Hearthstone players a variety of perks and special events. One of the most awaited is the Legendary Questline. Celebrate Hearthstone Lunar New Year by completing tasks to earn up to six free packs:

  • 1 Forged in the Barrens Pack,
  • 1 United in Stormwind Pack,
  • 3 Fractured in Alterac Valley Packs,
  • 1 Golden Fractured in Alterac Valley Pack!

If we compare this Legendary Quest chain with the one we got in the 2021 Hearthstone Lunar New Year event, we might be a bit disappointed. Last year players got up to 9 Hearthstone free packs, a 50% more than in 2022. Maybe you can factor the Golden pack into the mix as compensation, you just need to be lucky enough to hit an epic or legendary card to compensate for the dust.

Lunar New Year Cosmetics

This Lunar New Year celebrations are bringing more cosmetics than ever to Hearthstone. To begin with, you can still claim for free the Dancing Lion Card Back in the shop. This special edition card back was designed by Xi Luo, a Hearthstone player that won the Card Back Design Competition in China. You have time until February 8 before it leaves the shop.

On top of this special card back, the shop has been renewed with new skin options for Battlegrounds. Battlegrounds Heroes: Three Kingdoms is a special edition for 8 characters that costs $14.99 and will be available through March 14.

Furthermore, if you fancy a new bartender, Fariel Starsong is available for purchase to serve you the best minions in the tavern. Slysssa, a prominent Battlegrounds streamer and part of the equal representation movement in Hearthstone half-celebrated the addition. Maybe a human girl bartender will be next.

If you are a constructed player, you can also enjoy ranked skin bundles. Evil From Pandaria, Snake and Crane, and Diao Chan Valeera bundles are available in the shop at $9.99 each. If you are a collector, don’t miss them.

The troll Kazakus plans to restore the shattered naaru and use its power to complete a mysterious ritual. To stop him, Tavish must overcome the Frostwolves, Horde mercenaries, angry Troggs, his own family, and food poisoning! Can he stomach it?”
