Hearthstone Cataclysm theorycrafting event

The Cataclysm theorycrafting event runs from March 5 at 9 a.m. PT to 9 p.m. PT for content creators in North America (NA), Latin America (LATAM), and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). During this time, the selected content creators get to showcase their Cataclysm decks while dueling against others. Each deck includes at least 10 Cataclysm cards.

These theorycrafting streams can be found via the Hearthstone category on Twitch. Channels with Twitch Drops enabled also allow viewers to earn up to two free Cataclysm card packs. Some channels are doing giveaways as well, so it’s a great time to potentially win rewards while supporting your favorite content creators.

Hearthstone Cataclysm decks and cards

A few examples of content creators currently streaming Cataclysm gameplay include Zeddy, ClarkHELLSCREAM, and imik. While imik is testing out a new Death Knight deck, ClarkHELLSCREAM and Zeddy are demonstrating the potential of the Warrior class. ClarkHELLSCREAM’s Destructive Blaze combo deck is quite powerful.

The livestreams also show off the new signature Deathwing, Worldbreaker card. According to Zeddy, when it’s played, your hero becomes the mythic Deathwing portrait, which is quite fitting for an expansion named after a timeline where Deathwing never fell.

Once Cataclysm becomes available for other players on either March 10 with the pre-release Tavern Brawl or March 17, they can duke it out with their own decks full of Colossal minions and make use of the Herald and Shatter keywords. Cards with the Herald keyword, in particular, can be found in the Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior classes since they’re working with Deathwing.

Meanwhile, the dragonflights opposing Deathwing have recruited the help of Mages, Priests, Druids, Hunters, and Paladins. These classes can use cards with the Shatter keyword.

Hearthstone Cataclysm pre-release Tavern Brawl

As noted, the pre-release Tavern Brawl kicks off on March 10. This is when players can open their Cataclysm card packs early, build decks, and compete for rewards.

According to Blizzard Entertainment, the regular Deathwing, Worldbreaker card can be tested out during this time, too. However, do note that this is a temporary rental.
