Hearthstone 21.4.4 Patch brings three Battlegrounds balance changes, a new Diablo Hero for Duels and BGs, plus free Hallow’s End goods!
The 21.4.4 Patch brings three balance changes to Hearthstone Battlegrounds. On top of that, with the Hallow’s End event both, Duels and Battlegrounds players will be able to enjoy a new playable hero: Diablo. But wait, that’s not everything, keep reading to learn how to get free packs and skins!
The 21.4.4 Hearthstone Patch: BGs Balance Changes
The Hearthstone Battlegrounds meta stabilized well after the 21.3 Patch deployed one month ago. For a while, most tribes saw a fair amount of play without any major unbalances. However, there is always something to address, and Blizzard expects that these three changes the 21.4.4 Hearthstone Patch brings will help make the game better.
Omega Buster nerf with the 21.4.4 Hearthstone Patch
“Old: 6 Attack, 6 Health. Deathrattle: Summon six 1/1 Microbots. For each that doesn’t fit, give your Mechs +1/+1. → New: 5 Attack, 5 Health. Deathrattle: Summon five 1/1 Microbots. For each that doesn’t fit, give your Mechs +1/+1.”
Holy Mecherel nerf with the 21.4.4 Hearthstone Patch
Old: 8 Attack, 4 Health. → New: 6 Attack, 4 Health.
Recycling Wraith nerf with the 21.4.4 Hearthstone Patch
Old: After you play an Elemental, your next Refresh costs (0). → New: After you play an Elemental, your next Refresh costs (1) less.
Battlegrounds Meta analysis
These three changes intend to tone down a bit the power level of mech compositions and soft nerf to Millhouse Elemental compositions. Without killing the cards, the balance changes in Hearthstone 21.4.4 patch will try to reduce mech power spikes or high rolls.
The Recycling Wraith change doesn’t seem like a nerf, but it cuts down the possibility of infinite cycling turns with Millhouse Manastorm hero. Again, following the same direction of preventing extreme power spikes and abusive mechanics.
To some surprise, the Hearthstone 21.4.4 patch didn’t bring any Hero changes to Battlegrounds. However, thanks to Hallow’s End event, players will be able to enjoy a new Hero, DIABLO.

Hallow’s End is Here: New Diablo Hero for Battlegrounds and Duels
The 21.4.4 patch is not the only Hearthstone spicy news of the week. Starting November 2nd, a brand new class will invade the Battlegrounds and Duels arena, Diablo. For Duels, Diablo will be the first-ever dual-class hero, combining Warrior and Warlock card pools. Like every other character in Duels, he will have unique Hero Powers and Signature Treasures. More info coming with the 21.6 patch (does anyone smell a mini-set in the air, or it’s just me?)
Also starting November 2nd, Diablo will enter Battlegrounds with a brand-new Hero mechanic. Players that choose the Diablo hero, will face all the other players in the Tavern every four turns, in epic battles for special treasures. To make things spicy, the Lord of Terror will join Diablo’s Warband as a sort of raid boss.
We have as many questions as you do, unfortunately, that is all the Diablo info available. But wait, there is some other interesting stuff coming with Hallow’s End event -cough, freebies, cough-.
Hallow’s End free Skins and Packs
The seasonal event that includes dual-class arenas, special Tavern Brawls, and cosmetic bundle, also comes with free packs and skins. Go to the shop and claim your free Pirate King Garrosh skin for the Warrior class. And save the date, starting October 26, you will be able to get Stormwind Guard Guff Battleground hero skin.
Don’t slack, since these special offers expire on November 9 and 30 respectively.
Last but not least, make sure you empty your Legendary Quests slot since new ones will start popping on November 2nd. The players who successfully complete the quest chain will get 4 Hearthstone packs. Again, this special event will end by November 10th, so get them done before they’re gone!
