All praise Furyhunter, the Maw and Disorder Hearthstone Masters Tour champion. Today we review his way to the top and his impressive stats.
Over 300 of the best Hearthstone players in the world competed in the Maw and Disorder Masters Tour this weekend, but the best of them was Furyhunter. With a $250,000 prize pool, and being the last train to the Fall Championship and Worlds, every player dreamed about winning it. But dreaming it isn't enough, especially when Furyhunter is around, let's go over how he won this Hearthstone Masters Tour.
Furyhunter's journey in Hearthstone Maw and Disorder MT
Masters Tours are the Hearthstone arena where players need to demonstrate their credentials. Battling against the world's finest competitors forges Hearthstone legends. Furyhunter has already become one of them.
The Danish player from Max Team knew what winning a major meant, he won the 2021 Stormwind Hearthstone Masters Tour. This time, however, he only needed 5 wins to secure his ticket to the Fall Seasonal Championship, the last train to Worlds.
Furyhunter nailed a 5-0 streak without losing a single Hearthstone game. Fall Championship was secured, but why stop there? With that record, he only needed one or two wins to get to the Top 16 and take a shot at winning the whole event. And guess what, with a 7-1 record, Fury got to the final day of the competition.
Maw and Disorder Hearthstone Masters Tour Top 16
The Top 16 single elimination bracket was stacked. Half of the field was superb Chinese players, showcasing the proceeds of their highly developed competitive system.
Despite having the numbers and being the country with the most MT champions, 7 out of the 8 Chinese representatives fell off the tournament before reaching the final Top 4.
Spring was the last man standing and was facing Fury in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, former Grandmaster Leandro Leal had to go against Construct, an uprising North American player.

Furyhunter´s rise to the top
If during the swiss stage Furyhunter was focused, on this final bracket, he became one with Hearthstone. He never gave a chance to his opponents, no matter who they were or what they were playing. Fury defeated 3-1 Meowo, Dardarbinks and Spring and had to face Leandro Leal in the final.
"I pretty much do nothing else that look at stats, play Hearthstone and talk to people about Hearthstone."
Furyhunter's final game was just a show match, Hearthstone at its peak. Without losing a game, the Danish player became the two-time Masters Tour champion. During the winner's interview, Darroch Brown asked him who the best Hearthstone player in the world was. Furyhunter wasn't shy when answering:
"I think it is pretty close between Habugabu, Bunnyhoppor, XiaoT and myself. I'm making a pretty strong case for myself at the moment, but the others are also doing pretty well."
With a legal pun for extra Maw and Disorder flavor points, Furyhunter spoke the truth, and numbers back that up. He took the MT with an 11-1 match record, going 34-10 in games for an insane 77% win rate to cash $25,000 in earnings.
Furyhunter in numbers:
- Competed in all 21 MT events
- One of only three players to win 2 MT events (with xBlyzes and Gaby)
- The player with the most wins in MTs overall: 125w-58l
- The player with the most MT wins during 2022: 41w-13l
- Reached Top 16 five times
On top of everything, Furyhunter did that with one of his favorite Hearthstone decks, Boar Priest. His line-up also included 30-card Ping Mage, the staple Beast Hunter and Imp Curse Warlock as the fourth deck.
