Genshin Impact version Luna VI is giving Mondstadt new areas for the first time since 2020. It also adds Linnea, a 5-star Geo Bow unit.
We have the details for Genshin Impact version Luna VI, and it is doing something that HoYoverse hasn’t done in over five years: add a new area to Mondstadt. Here’s everything we know about Dornman Port, the Temple of Space, and this update’s new character, Linnea!
Genshin Impact Luna VI release date
The Genshin Impact Luna VI update is scheduled for April 8, 2026. After a brief maintenance window, check your in-game mail for some compensatory Primogems you can use to draw for any of this version’s banners, or to save for future ones!
Dornman Port, Temple of Space
This patch adds two new areas to Mondstadt. The last time this region was expanded was in Version 1.2, all the way back in Dec. 2020. This means that it took over five years and all regions but Snezhnaya to be added before new Mondstadt real estate became available.
The first of the two new areas is Dornman Port, located on the northern end of Mondstadt. After being just out of reach since the game’s release almost six years ago. This continues the trend of recent updates: expanding the story of Mondstadt and taking the Traveler and Paimon back to their roots in Teyvat.
Speaking of the Traveler’s roots, Genshin Impact Luna VI will also add the Temple of Space, lying just above Mondstadt.
The Unknown God, who we now know is Asmoday, the Ruler of Space, is one of the first characters we see when starting Genshin Impact. We know little about the Temple of Space, apart from the fact that it was created by Asmoday herself.
Exploring the Temple of Space should give us a better insight into Asmoday’s character, the Four Heavenly Principles, and the overarching lore of Genshin Impact.
New character: Linnea
Linnea is a 5-star Geo Bow character and is the only new unit to be added in Genshin Impact Luna VI. She is an advisor for the Adventurers’ Guild and is not human. She is a Fae living amongst humans. She is accompanied by Lumi, who also plays a hand in her gameplay. Linnea facilitates Lunar-Crystallize Reaction within the team, and has special synergies with Hydro characters like Columbina.
Linnea’s banner, along with her signature weapon Golden Frostbound Oath, will be in the first half of the patch, beginning on April 8. A rerun banner for Chasca will happen at the same time. Meanwhile, the second half of the patch will have reruns for Nefer and Lauma.
