The national team might get an upgrade as Mavuika and Xbalanque could cause Xiangling and Bennett’s falloff.

The long-standing reign of Xiangling and Bennett as some of the most staple units in Genshin Impact is about to change, according to recent leaks. The culprits? Natlan characters Mavuika and Xbalanque.

Note that the information below did not come from official sources and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Mavuika and Xbalanque in Genshin Impact

Two upcoming characters from Natlan, Genshin Impact's newest region, may powercreep Xiangling and Bennett. Mavuika and Xbalanque are the (presumably) powerful characters in lore that may translate their power to gameplay.

Mavuika is Xiangling improved?

First is Mavuika. Her earliest appearance was the Natlan teaser and since then, the community has assumed that she is the Pyro Archon. She will be a sub-DPS unit, according to leaker White. They even went as far as saying that Mavuika is an improved version of Xiangling.

Historically, the playable versions of the Archons in Genshin Impact have always taken somewhat of a supportive role, at least at C0. Mavuika being a sub-DPS isn't too farfetched when we have characters like Furina and Raiden that can reliably pump damage out.

Is Bennett's adventure over with Xbalanque?

Xbalanque, on the other hand, is shrouded in mystery. They have limited mentions in the game, the most important one coming from Neuvillette's introduction.

Seeing as the two seem to be familiar, Xbalanque could very well be the Pyro Sovereign. As a playable character, however, they will be a support character who can provide ATK bonus for the entire team.

While this mechanic in particular is not unique to Bennett, this was still the conclusion drawn by many Genshin Impact players. As it stands, Bennett still sounds like the better unit with his healing and accessibility. However, we cannot draw a fair conclusion until we learn more about Xbalanque. Perhaps we will meet them, or hear more about them, as we explore Natlan in Genshin Impact version 5.0.

Whether or not Xbalanque ends up powercreeping Bennett in Genshin Impact, the latter's adventure isn't over just yet. Genshin_Intel suggests that players, new and old alike, will be given Bennett for free as a reward for a World Quest.
