Link is back and prepared to do whatever it takes to bring Hyrule peace. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which releases in May of 2023, released a new trailer today during the February Nintendo Direct.

Here is a full breakdown of the trailer.

The trailer begins with an ominous tone. A storm is settling across the land, as we see darkness and shadows ensue. Multiple monsters are shown flying through the skies or crawling across the ground.

We hear a voice.

"Rise. Rise, my servants. Sweep over Hyrule", says the voice. "Eliminate this kingdom and her allies. Leave no survivors".

It is unclear as to who the character speaking is, but we can only presume it is Ganondorf.

We finally then see Link as he stares out into a blood moon, implying that evil has overtaken the land.

Chaos ensues; Monsters have invaded Hyrule

The trailer amps up the hype, showing various monsters being cast amongst the land. We see scenes of Link riding Epona and fighting off enemies.

A shot of Link stuck between what seems to be robot arms plays, making us wonder just what new technology has developed since the last time we visited Hyrule.

The trailer continues, showing Link fighting against multiple types of enemies. Some are new, some are the same as "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild".

But then, we witness the real darkness.

A visual of what looks to be the corpse of Ganon awakens in what seems to be a dark cavern. Zelda's voice then calls out.

"But Link, I am not sure you will be able to stop him", says Zelda.

An epic montage follows after.

Fly through the air, aim your bow and more in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Now, the part of the trailer that people are most looking forward to; the gameplay.

A first look at different mechanics and devices are featured. Gliding through the air, firing your bow and more mechanics make the spotlight.

Link is seen with what looks like some sort of special gauntlet, giving him powers to control different ancient devices. This resembles the ancient technology we saw in the game's predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The final shot shows Link leaping through the air. At first, we only see the character by himself, but as the camera zooms out, we see a helpless Zelda falling through the air.

A new adventure awaits games, as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom officially releases on May 12, 2023.
