Razer Gigantus V2 Pro features and review

The first thing that stands out about the Gigantus V2 Pro mouse mats is how the glide of our mouse over them feels intentional rather than generic. The Balance variant hits a comfortable middle ground, which is exactly what one would expect based on its namesake. There’s also not too much resistance, but enough to make movements feel more controlled and precise. The Control variant makes it feel like it’s easier to line up shots in a game like Overwatch without feeling like your mouse is either dragging or slipping too quickly.

According to Razer, this all ties into the product’s GlideCore foam. The lineup includes three firmness levels. The soft one is for more cushioning and stopping power while the medium level helps with balanced tracking and control. The hard foam offers effortless glide for rapid flicks.

Quality and intentional design

The Gigantus V2 Pro also feels secure on our desk. The grip strength is excellent, and the mat doesn’t shift at all during gameplay even during wider and more aggressive swipes. It’s 50 x 40 cm size contributes to this. The mat is also durable and well-made, and the stitched edges prevent fraying while staying comfortable on the wrist during long sessions.

Another thoughtful detail is the Balance or Control tag placed on the underside of the mat. This keeps the surface completely unobstructed, so it doesn’t interfere with mouse movement at all. The Gigantus V2 Pro then continues to keep things clean and minimal with its solid black surface with the iconic green Razer logo in one corner.

Finally, even after being rolled up, it quickly returns to a flat shape without any noticeable warping. This makes it easy for transport or storage without worrying about deformations. Overall, the Gigantus V2 Pro glide, anti-slip base, and sturdy construction makes it a solid mouse mat with plenty of space for wide swings plus more accurate shots when playing FPS games.
