The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is getting a remake this year. Here is what we know.

It’s a big day for Zelda fans, as it was officially leaked that Ocarina of Time, arguably the most influential video game of all time, will be getting a remake later this year. Here is what we know.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is getting a remake in 2026

It is a crazy year for video games. Pokopia has just been released. GTA VI is set to release later this year, and now we know that Ocarina of Time, the infamous Zelda title, will be getting a full remake, too.

And no, this is not like the 3D version that came out for the 3DS (which was awesome). This is an official remake. New graphics. Maybe some new content. The whole deal.

So, what do we know about this release? Well, we know very little at the moment, other than the fact that a Nintendo insider leaked the news earlier today. However, this has been a rumor for a long time now, so many were not surprised. To hear, though, that the game is confirmed to be getting a remake, has been amazing news for many fans.

Seeing this wonderful game with new graphics will be revolutionary. Whether or not the game will take on Breath of the Wild graphics or not is unknown.

So, when does it release?

Release date

Right now, we do not have an official release date for the Ocarina of Time remake. In fact, we do not even have an official announcement from Nintendo yet. With the Mario movie about to be released, we will likely see the game announcement soon after.

The insider did leak, though, that the game will release in the latter part of 2026, probably near Christmas, making it the perfect game to play as you end the year.

Will you be heading back to Hyrule with the Ocarina of Time remake?
