Nintendo has been sending stores “Out of Stock” signs ahead of the new console’s official release, which is just days away.
The Switch 2 is about to release, and it seems like Nintendo is already anticipating the console's sales to be through the roof. Well, at least enough that they project it to sell out. Recent retail employees have posted photos online of Switch 2 "sold out" signs, which were sent to them by Nintendo.
Nintendo sends stores "sold out" signs
So, does Nintendo hope that these signs will go up around stores? Probably. In fact, pre-orders for the Switch 2 sold out almost immediately across various websites when released back in April. This has led many to assume that the remaining consoles will probably sell quite fast when officially released.
And guess what? The Switch 2 releases on June 5, 2025. That is literally in two days.

One Reddit user posted on the site saying, "Got these signs in from Nintendo, they got jokes." The post then proceeded to show a photo of a stack of Switch 2 signs saying "Out of Stock."
This just goes to show how Nintendo realizes their popularity across the world, also meaning it will be quite difficult to get the console upon release. Good luck dealing with the scalpers!
