Riot Games is a titan in the industry. They are responsible for some of the most popular titles on the planet, such as League of Legends and VALORANT. The company was founded in 2006 and has been a consistent presence in casual gaming and competitive esports alike.

Since 2017, Nicolo Laurent has been Riot Games CEO. He oversaw important developments for League and the creation of VALORANT. As well, he ensured the proper placement of strategies and disciplines to deliver the best games Riot is capable of.

Now, he'll close the curtain on the Riot Games chapter of his life. In a Tweet, Laurent stated he is stepping away to focus on family. He plans to relocate back to France. He also noted that his exit is still a few months away. That will allow for a smooth transition to A. Dylan Jadeja as CEO.

Jadeja entered Riot Games in 2011 as Chief Financial Officer. Chief Operating Officer came next for him in 2014. Around the same time that Laurent became CEO, Jadeja was named President of Riot Games. After several years in that role, he has been chosen as Laurent's successor.

Prior to joining Riot, Jadeja was the co-head of West Coast Consumer Retail Coverage for Goldman Sachs. He is a native of India, but raised in Ontario, Canada. His bio on the Riot Games website mentions his ravenous love for hockey and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

You can read further about this changing of the guard in the official Riot Games statement. Both Laurent and Jadeja share messages at the end of the announcement regarding the move and what to expect going forward. It is said that Jadjea will be in place as new Riot Games CEO by the end of 2023.
