Stellar Blade’s Director talked microtransactions in their upcoming action title. He also talked DLC, Outfits and New Game+.
Stellar Blade Director Kim Hyung Tae has confirmed in an interview that Stellar Blade will not feature microtransactions. He also shared news on new game+, additional outfits for EVE and the potential for DLC.
The interview was conducted by South Korean media outlet Ruliweb, and it tackled many dying questions fans had about the upcoming PS5 exclusive. The biggest perhaps of all: Would high-value outfits for EVE be put behind a paywall?
No Microtransactions in Stellar Blade outside of collabs
"We want to make it clear at this point that Stellar Blade will not require any additional expenses that gamers are not aware of beyond what they paid for the package," said Stellar Blade Director Kim Hyung Tae.
Kim Hyung Tae added that there would only be one exception: "The only exception is if you create a collaboration costume with another company's IP, that amount can be sold for a fee."

Stellar Blade's developers Shift Up are no strangers to collaborations. For their mobile game Goddess of Victory: Nikke, they welcomed 2B from Nier: Automata as a Nikke crossover character. Other collabs include Chainsaw Man and Re:zero.
Given the cyberpunk theme in Stellar Blade, there's a huge window of opportunity for special outfits. Even if they do involve a microtransaction.
