If you've been playing Lost Ark recently, you may have seen a mount that looks a bit like this:
That's right - despite being set in a high fantasy world, Lost Ark features perhaps one of the most interesting iterations of a hoverboard seen in a MMO. The Nuegier mount, or as its more widely known, the yellow hoverboard can be obtained through Twitch drops. This is the final reward in Twitch's Legends of the Lost Ark drop campaign.
It was only unlocked after streamers in each region reached a certain number of points at the highest tier. At time of writing, all three regions have reached this reward, so any streamer with drops enabled, you'll be able to earn this mount from.
How to link your Twitch account to get drops
However, you will have to jump through a few hoops to make sure that you earn the mount before March 1, when the promotion ends.
Just head over to Lost Ark's website, go to the Lost Ark Twitch drops page. There, it will prompt you to sign in to your Twitch account, and then link up your Steam account. If you have two factor authentication turned on, you'll need to use your email to log in, so make sure to have that open. Then you can click Activate.
At that point, your account will be linked. This is useful for not only the Twitch drops, but if you have Prime, you'll be able to claim loot boxes over the next few months.
In order to get the mount, you'll have to watch 16 hours worth of Lost Ark content. If you don't want to watch the stream, it will still count if you leave it open but muted in the background. You'll just need to occasionally check in and make sure the stream didn't pause, or your computer didn't go to sleep, as that doesn't count.
Throughout the course of your watching, you'll also earn three other rewards:
- Battle Item chest:
Contains a Battle Item Chest 3 Pack, Regulus' Light Currency Chest (100K Silver), and an Amethyst Shard Pack (1,500 Shards).
- Arkesia Paper Hat Chest
This chest will unlock one of five unique paper hats
- Helgaia Pet Chest
This chest will unlock 1 of four unique Helgaia pets.
What does the Lost Ark hoverboard mount do?
Well, for one, it's bright yellow. And while that in itself might not make you go faster, you will be the envy of all of Arkesia just from zooming around on the thing. It also has a "Booster" animation, which makes it appear that you're rocketing around. From our testing though, this is merely a cosmetic choice, which is why it only has a 1 second cooldown.
