Can GTA 6 break the BTS Dynamite music video 24-hour viewership record?

The GTA 6 trailer leaked and later was officially released in a rather unexpected manner on Dec. 4. Since then, the video game trailer has amassed massive viewership on YouTube and is on the path to becoming the "highest-viewed video on the platform in 24 hours."

The GTA 6 trailer was supposed to be released on Dec. 5 at 9 a.m. ET. One of the most popular video game franchises of the decade, millions of players were waiting for a glimpse of their next favorite game. They got a glimpse, but it was due to a leaked trailer. Rockstar Games quickly followed up by officially releasing the GTA 6 trailer, earlier than the scheduled time.

GTA 6 Trailer - 58 million views in 12 hours!

The GTA 6 trailer has already become a massive hit on YouTube. Within a few hours of its forced official release, the video has garnered several millions of views. It is well on track to break YouTube’s highest viewership record for 24 hours.

At the time of writing, it has been nearly 12 hours since Rockstar Games released the trailer. The video has 57,975,413 views on YouTube and it shows no signs of slowing just yet.

At its current pace, the trailer could well be on its way to setting a new record. The record for the highest viewership in 24 hours is BTS’ Dynamite music video. The video had a massive 101 million views in twelve hours.

GTA 6 takes place in Vice City and this has been confirmed by Rockstar Games. For millions of players, some well into adulthood, the views from Vice City bring back memories of their teenage years playing this game. The GTA 6 game has been one of the most anticipated titles of the series. While there is no official release date for the game just yet, we may be in store for more trailer videos over the next few months.

It also features the series’ first female protagonist, Lucia. The trailer starts off showing Lucia in a prison jumpsuit. The game will come to PC and Xbox in 2025, although there has been no confirmation of a PC release just yet.
