NICKMERCS and FaZe Clan members feature on the cover of the latest issue for Sports Illustrated to highlight gaming and content creation.
Back in the old days, gamers used to be shy to admit they are spending hours playing video games. Now, through the power of content creation, streamers, gaming personalities, and the likes of Ninja and NICKMERCS, gaming and esports has definitely made it into the mainstream. The latter specifically is part of FaZe Clan, the historic esports organization founded 10 years ago. They have rosters competing in CS:GO, Rocket League, VALORANT, and naturally, Call of Duty.
FaZe Clan was always associated with Call of Duty streamers and trickshotters. Now, they are associated with Sports Illustrated. A number of the team's members were featured on the cover of the latest issue of Sports Illustrated. FaZe NICKMERCS, FaZe Rug, FaZe Temperrr, and FaZe Swagg. They weren't alone on the cover though, They were accompanied by NBA superstar Lebron James' son, Bronny James, alongside NFL's Arizona Cardinals quarter back, Kyler Cole Murray.
The article featured on Sports Illustrated highlights FaZe Clan members' insight and experience over the years in the gaming and esports industry. They particularly focus on streaming and content creation, which the organization undoubtedly are excelling at over the past few years. FaZe Clan's transition from a hardcore esports competition-focused organization to a heavily content creation-oriented team of high profile streamers and YouTubers shows the shift in the gaming space.
The team's deal with Nissan in 2019 is just an example of how they are making it into the mainstream and continuously setting new heights for other teams to achieve. Not only that, later on in the same year, we saw English Premier League champions, Manchester City, come out of the tunnel with FaZe Clan logos on their training sets following an incredible collaboration.
The bar couldn't have been set higher for organizations in the content creation world.
