FaZe Clan has benched coldzera ahead of IEM Summer 2021. The team has not announced his replacement yet although reports suggest Olofmeister might make a comeback.

FaZe Clan has benched Marcelo “coldzera” David, the player announced earlier on Twitter. The player’s announcement comes shortly after a report by Brazilian outlet globoesport.

FaZe Clan has had a string of poor results in recent times. The team finished in the last place at Flashpoint Season 3.  The player said he is analyzing his options for the future as his time with FaZe Clan was also coming to an end.

After the bootcamp with all the results that we had recently and because my time on faze is expiring soon I move to the bench to analyse new options for the future. I would like to say thanks to faze and wish a gl for my teammates.

Coldzera

Coldzera was the best player on HLTV in 2016 and 2017. He was instrumental in the rise of Brazilian Counter-strike on the international stage. He is also one of the few players who has a graffiti to his name in-game on Mirage.

Who will replace Coldzera on FaZe?

With Coldzera’s departure from FaZe Clan, there is an empty slot on the roster. A reddit post suggests FaZe Clan has been playing with Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer during practice. So Counter-Strike fans might see Olofmeister back on the server very soon.

FaZe Clan has made multiple changes to its roster in 2021. The team added Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken and and later Finn “karrigan” Andersen. With Karrigan at the helm, expectations were high from FaZe Clan. Instead, the team crashed out of Flashpoint 3 in the last place.

With this change, FaZe’s CS:GO roster is now as follows:

  • Håvard “rain” Nygaard
  • Helvijs “broky” Saukants
  • Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken
  • Finn “karrigan” Andersen

FaZe Clan will next compete in IEM Summer which is a $250,000 CS:GO tournament starting on June 3.
