Diablo 4 is launching this summer, but before that time arrives, players can participate in the Diablo 4 Server Slam. Read on for everything to know about the Diablo 4 Server Slam schedule, what to expect, and more!
What is the Diablo 4 Server Slam?
The Diablo 4 Server Slam will be an event that tests the durability of Blizzard's servers. The event will go from May 12 at 12 p.m. PDT to May 14 at 12 p.m. PDT. It will also involve multiple platforms such as Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
- Start: May 12 at 12 p.m. PDT
- End: May 14 at 12 p.m. PDT
According to Blizzard, couch co-op will also be available for console players alongside cross-progression and cross-play for every platform.
What to expect during the Diablo 4 Server Slam
The event will feature the game's prologue and all of Diablo 4 Act I. Players will get to enter the first zone, known as Fractured Peaks, while playing as a Barbarian, Necromancer, Druid, Sorcerer, or Rogue up to level 20.
Blizzard noted that character progress made during the Early Access and Open Beta weekends will not carry over to the event. Similarly, Diablo 4 Server Slam progress will not carry over to the game's launch.
As for other details, the drop rate for legendary items will reflect the launch version of the game. Additionally, after reaching level 20, players will no longer gain ability points.
Here's the overview of what to expect:
- Diablo 4 Prologue and Diablo 4 Act I
- Main quests, side quests, world events, and legion events
- Play as a Barbarian, Necromancer, Druid, Sorcerer, or Rogue
- Level 20 cap and no ability points after
- Updated legendary item drop rate
- Character progress not carried over to the official launch
The ultimate challenge during the Diablo 4 Server Slam will be defeating Ashava. This is because players will be unable to go beyond level 20. Players will get the chance to fight Ashava starting May 13 at 9 a.m. PDT and every three hours after. Her final spawn time will be May 14 at 9 a.m. PDT.

Although character progress will not carry over to launch, players will still be able to unlock rewards and get them for the game's launch. Those who already earned the rewards below during either the Early Access or Open Beta weekend will not get them again.

Here are the instructions on how to download the Diablo 4 Server Slam event for PC and console if you don't already have the Diablo 4 Open Beta. According to Blizzard, players will be able to download the event starting May 10 at 12 p.m. PDT.

- Launch Battle.net
- Add Diablo 4 to your favorites bar by clicking the "+" icon
- Select "Diablo IV – Server Slam" under the "Game Version" area
- Press the "Install" button
Xbox
- Visit the Xbox Store
- Search for "Diablo IV – Server Slam"
- Select the "Download" option
PlayStation
- Visit the PlayStation Store
- Search for "Diablo IV – Server Slam"
- Choose the "Download" option
If you already have the Diablo IV Open Beta downloaded, then you will get an downloadable update on May 10 at 12 p.m. PDT.
