ESL PUBG Masters 2021 Europe Spring Stage 1 ended with Blaze and WLA securing the top two slots.
The ESL PUBG Masters 2021 Euro has come to an end with Team Blaze securing the top spot. We Live Again (WLA) secured three chicken dinners and placed second in the ESL PUBG Masters 2021 Europe. The last round was won by Apeks which catapulted the team into a top ten finish ahead of Stage 2.
Stage 1 of the ESL PUBG Masters 2021 Europe Spring took place over two days from April 10-11, 2021. The teams were competing for seeding in Stage 2, which will also see the first eliminations of the tournament. Here’s a quick preview of Stage 1 of the ESL PUBG Masters 2021 Spring Europe.
Blaze and We LIve Again pull ahead on Day 1
The first day of the tournament saw We Live Again secure the Chicken Dinner in the first two rounds of the tournament. The first round was action-packed for the team with thirteen eliminations. The team continued its momentum into the second round of the day.
WLA would repeat its performance on Day 1 with two more Chicken Dinners in rounds 2 and 6. Despite winning three of the six rounds on Day 1, it was Blaze Esports that pulled ahead in points. Blaze won only one chicken dinner but its players were extremely active on Day 1. They ramped up points by getting a lot more kills, in some cases, equalling that of higher-placed teams.

Action-packed Day 2 sees a different winner for each round
As the teams moved on to Day 2, the focus shifted to the teams in the middle of the pack. While Blaze and WLA managed to hold on to their massive leads, teams below them were in a close battle for a top ten finish. The top ten Stage 1 teams will play in the first match of Stage 2.
Karagumruk Espor started the day with a first-place finish and the much-needed 10 points. While the team did not have as good a performance the rest of the day, its sole Chicken Dinner victory was enough for a top ten Stage 1 finish.
The eighth round had an exciting finish with three solos inside the final circle. Team Entropiq’s Vojtěch "Double" Ptáček, Apeks’ Aleksander "TekkerZ" Handeland and WLA’s DaNt3 were all on the same edge of the circle. The tension was palpable as Double and DaNt3 ended up in a 1v1 situation, but the Entropiq player eliminated his rival. Team Entropiq won its first chicken dinner of the ESL PUBG Masters 2021 Europe Spring Stage 1.
Tarlans, Nexus and Yikees won rounds 9,10 and 11 but it was still not enough for a top ten finish. Yikees had some stylish plays, but style alone does not net teams points in PUBG. Not yet at least. These three teams finished outside of the top ten in Stage 1 despite having a chicken dinner to their names.
By the time the game reached the twelfth round, Blaze had already secured the top Stage 1 spot. We Live Again was closed behind despite having near-last place finishes in the previous three rounds.
It was Apeks that pulled out a win in the final round of the tournament. This chicken dinner helped the team secure a top ten spot and a start in Stage 2 of the tournament.
