eMLS continues their 2023 season with League Series 2

The eMLS 2023 season continues forward, as the League Series 2 begins this week.

Major League Soccer (MLS) and Electronic Arts (EA) carry on with their 2023 season by preparing for this week's League Series 2. This is also the final series eMLS League Series.

The tournament is partnering with Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and will decide the overall seeding and participation for the highly-anticipated eMLS Cup in March.

The eMLS Cup will be held during SXSW in Austin, Texas, and will bring a whopping $100,000 prize pool to the table.

With various eMLS clubs participating in the qualifiers being held this week, the competition is more than stacked. Qualifiers will be remote and held on February 7 and 8.

Then on Saturday, February 11, there will be an in-person qualifier in NYC. The top eight teams participating in the Saturday event will move forward to finals alongside the top four teams from the online qualifiers.

Finals are also currently set to be held in NYC.

Here is a breakdown of the weekend's official $25,000 prize pool:

  • 1st - $10,000
  • 2nd - $5,000
  • 3rd - $2,000
  • 4th - $2,000

With various emerging storylines, the eMLS is looking at a successful 2023 season

eMLS fans are waiting in excitement as their favorite competitor's storylines play out. With multiple top names in the series competing this week and weekend, nail-biting gameplay is expected.

Atlanta United's Paulo Neto, winner of the 2023 League Series 1, will be making his appearance, building off the momentum he's held to over the last month.

Minnesota United's "Lamps", will also be participating. Lamps is a fierce competitor and foe to Neto, falling short of Atlanta United's player back in Series 1.

Lamps will be looking for an opportunity during this series to climb his way back up the ranks, hoping to secure first place.
